Opks leaving me so confused
This morning I got a solid smiley face, but never got my flashing smile.....???? Has this ever happened to anyone else???? I took my cvs brand OPK tonight (I didn't hold my urine for recd time) and it couldn't be more negative????
We did BD last night and will tonight and next couple of days as we are trying out "Deanna's plan"..... But I'm so confused on whether or not the timing is "right"

Opks leaving me so confused
That's so annoying. I found testing in the am for me wasn't accurate even with the new flashing opks...

The reason you likely skipped the flashing smiley is bc you surged in the afternoon or evening- you may want to consider testing in the morning and evening.

You could have missed your O and the test was negative bc your levels dropped or you may not have held your urine long enough. It sounds like you are using two different brands of opk--if that is the case it is probably better to stick to one especially if you are using the first response kit--the first response is more sensitive so it detects lower levels of hormone in your urine. If you are using two different kits it could simply be one is more sensitive than the other--the first response kit is expensive because it is better at detecting low levels of hormone.

Opks leaving me so confused
I BD'd on Friday despite the neg (no smiley) then Sat I got a solid smiley (completely skipped the flashing) I only retested hours later because I couldn't understand why I skipped the flashing face.... I used a CVS OPK (the one with lines) and it was neg- tested again this morning (cvs OPK) neg again!!! How is it nothing was happening on Friday then Sat afternoon positive and then nothing sat night- what did I "o" in like 6 hrs??? I mean, I DTd the day before, day of and will continue the next 2 days; but hate to think I missed my time

It sounds like your LH peaked between Friday and Saturday. The solid smiley indicates your PEAK fertility-- it sounds like you missed the window of high fertility. Once you ovulate the egg can survive 12 to 24 hours. If you BD on Friday you should be OK. It would be less confusing to use only one type of opk because each kit has a different sensitivity. My RE recommended the clear blue advanced kit and I used it. I got pregnant the second month of using the kit. Good Luck!

Is it possible that it was a "false" positive? Should I continue to test?

Re: Opks leaving me so confused
Since switching to the "Advanced" Digital Ovulation Test Clear Blue makes I am having so many problems with OPKs. Everyone says you can't get false positives. But I keep getting positives no where near where I should and no where near my temp spike. Like 10 days before. Always the second day I temp. Then I stop for a few days (you have to wait 3 for it to reset) and when I test the second day I get the smiley face again.
It always goes straight to the smiley face, never get the "peak" days your supposed to get.
The old ones were always dead on and I was still using them until 2 cycles ago, I can't find them anymore. I don't think the new ones are 99% accurate, no matter what they claim.
