Pediatrician interviewing
Hi girls... So what kinda questions did you girls ask when you interviewd your pediatrician. I'm researching questions to ask but I'm curious if you girls thought of things that are important that maybe I wouldn't think of. TIA!!

Pediatrician interviewing
thebump.com has a list of GREAT questions to ask.
I asked what the schedule he had for the vaccines, how he felt about breast feeding (I didn't want to feel pressure but I wanted someone to support me through it), what was his check up schedule, how he felt about putting the baby right into the crib (I wanted someone with "old school" values that wasn't going to push his beliefs on me and support what I decide to do), if he was on vacation who was the covering doctor, how long to wait for an emergency appt, etc.
LOVE my ped!!!!!

Pediatrician interviewing
I never interviewed. You will not really know if you like them or not until you see them for appts. And if you end up hating them you can move on.

Ditto. I wouldn't even know what to ask.

Same. I went by recommendations but didn't bother with the interview process. But I'm pretty easy going, & gave vaccinations on time.

I asked similar questions - i only met with one- nearby and i liked him/her- if i didn't i guess i would have met more beforehand. You do go to the dr quite a bit that first year and i didn't want the headache of going from one place to another ( i am picky ) i think i also searched on here for reviews. i ended up especially happy i met him early as my baby was premature (to me unexpectedly because i was in denial.. but shouldn't have been a surprise looking back..anyway) I met the dr a few days before i delivered (thinking i was a month ahead in the game) i was at the hospital, in the hall crying, leaving my baby once again in the nicu, about to go home that night, and i recognized the dr in the hall, he didn't recognize me right away but i stopped him and when he realized who i was he gave me a big hug and kiss on the cheek, he said he saw my baby earlier that day and reassured me that he was small but going to be okay. I am so tearful when i remember that because it meant so much at the time. he hasn't been perfect since lol (but i am picky) but overall i am happy with the office.
