Anyone's baby have surgery? help calm me please! Update
DS is having a minor surgery tomorrow. He has penile scrotal webbing which needs to be fixed and he is being circumcised.
I am a WRECK!
My mom has the twins so I have had alot of time on my hands this evening!
I know it is sooo minor and from what I read it hurts mommy more than the baby but I am still worried.
He is 6 months old.
Anyone go through this?
Any tips of what to bring to the hospital or what to expect?

Update: all done! It went great! We are home and his is sleeping 
And a picture of my little man just because I think he looked so cute!

My dd was older; 16 months when she had tubes. I cried for weeks leading up to the surgery. I knew the surgery was minor but the thought of putting her under anesthesia is what made me so upset. The day of her surgery I just tried to be strong because I didn't want her to sense I was scared. I didn't let her see me cry. DH was calm and I leaned on him. I think all you can do is just try to lean on others, and know that the drs are trained to do this. They are experts and you have to have trust in them. Hopefully the surgery will go fast and be over before you know.
Make sure you bring a bottle (if you aren't bf) because they usually don't let you eat prior to surgery. Also bring a blanket for him because they put them in just a diaper before they go into surgery and its cold in the hospital. For you maybe bring your ipod or headphones to listen to you while you wait.

My son had tubes at18mths and thumb surgery at 2... He wakes up crying for the anestitia...but other than that...piece of cake! Trust the dr. It hard to walk out of the room...but u know its for the best. Good luck!

DS had surgery to fix an inguinal hernia when he was around 10 weeks old. I was good up until they carried him away when I broke down. The surgery was quick so I didn't really even have time to grab breakfast or open my book not that I would have been able to concentrate... He was groggy for a bit and didn't eat much but was back to himself the next day. He has a tiny scar that is still fading and he will never remember it.
It's always scary but your baby is in good hands.

My son had a hypospadia repaired at 6 months. It is heartbreaking to have them taken away to go in surgery but all worked out fine. Definitely nerve wrecking.

DS had an epigastric hernia sewed up at 13 months. It was really hard to watch them hold him down to put him under. He was also very agitated as he woke up. Lots of

Thanks! He is in now he was all smiles in the OR before he went to sleep so it made it easier. Now we wait

Glad it went well - he's adorable!!!
My friend's son went recently and she felt the same way - the worst part though was the recovery - he was supposed to take it easy but, he's 18 mos and very active.
