Lake George Hotels near the Water
Can anyone recommend some nice places to stay by the lake or right walking distance of town? Most of the ones I see in town are motels or very expensive places for what you get at 300/night. :P
It's hard to find something in the middle!
TIA!

Re: Lake George Hotels near the Water
We just got back from Lake George-we stayed at the Marine Village Resort. I think we paid about $170 a night. This is the second year we have stayed there. It is right on the lake and right on Canada Street, easy to walk to everything. I feel it is nice, clean and well kept.
Next year we might try the Surfside. While we were there we checked out their pool/beach area and it looks really nice. I didn't have an opportunity to see the rooms though.
I would not recommend The Georgian. I felt it was really run down and not as clean as the Marine Village Resort. We stayed there three years ago.

Thanks!
Someone mentioned the Marine Village Resort and Surfside resort too.
I'll check those out along with the Lake Motel (seems to be well reviewed on Tripadvisor). If no longer available, my fallback plan would be the Holiday Inn. Though pricey at 300/nt, it does include breakfast, has an indoor/outdoor poor and is very walkable to town. On top of that people seem to rave about it.
