Any nice hotels near the water?
On LI? Local (Suffolk)?
Closer than Greenport, Montauk or the Hamptons?
Looking to send my parents to stay somewhere for a weekend, near shops, the water etc.

Gurney's in Montauk is right on the beach. I think it's in need of some rennovations though and a little over priced....
There are a bunch of motels in montauk but i dont know much about them.
There is a new hotel in greenport -

ACtually - Danford's in Port Jeff fits your description - it's on the water, Port Jeff is a great little town.....
