What should I ditch first, the RnP or the swaddle?
This might be months away, but I want to be prepared. DS is 3months old. Right now he loves to be swaddled, naps in the swing (thanks to the great suggestions of ladies on here!), and sleeps in the RnP at night.
Do I try to ditch the swaddle before the crib transition? Or is it important for him to feel cozy in it when we put him in the big crib?
So scared to do either!

Re: What should I ditch first, the RnP or the swaddle?
im not sure what is right, but i would ditch the swaddle first dd is 6 months and on rare instances she will still nap in the RNP but the swaddle has to stop once they can roll which could be soon...

What should I ditch first, the RnP or the swaddle?
My DD was swaddled until she was 5 months old but I put her in the crib at 3 months. So my opinion would be to ditch the RnP first.

I would ditch the RNP first. He can still be swaddled in the crib & it will help stop his startle reflex when you put him down.

Only you can figure that one out. You have to see what works best for your child.
When your baby starts rolling over you should stop swaddling. This is usually around 3.5-4 months.
Once DS started rolling back to belly he wanted more space to sleep so we stopped putting him in the swing.
Just try one way and see what works for you. If it doesn' twork, try the other way.

We put them in their cribs swaddled at 3.5 mo to transition then they started not wanting to be swaddled anymore so we set them free and they adjusted.

Keep the swaddle, it will help you ease the transition into the crib.

Re: What should I ditch first, the RnP or the swaddle?
DS went into his crib at 7 weeks; and then remained swaddled until around 5 months. Breaking the swaddle was extremely hard. He was used to sleeping that way for so long I literally would wake up every hour for the first week or two. It was awful.
