BTDT moms with scheduled c-sections
If you had/are having a scheduled CS, have you ever asked your OB for an internal (specifically if you feel like you are not going to make it to your date)?
I've been carrying very low this whole pregnancy and this kid just keeps dropping. I'm scheduled to have a CS on Aug 5, but I have a feeling I'm not going to make it and I want to ask my OB at my next appt for an internal to see if there is anything going on. Is that a weird request??? (I have a scheduled CS with DS#1, but never felt like this with him).

Not a weird request! I was scheduled for a csection during my last pregnancy and when my OB checked me at 33 weeks I was 2 cm dilated. I ending up going into labor exactly 36 weeks and had a csection once I got to the hospital. This time around I'm going to ask my OB to check if she doesn't check on her own because I don't think once again I will make it to my scheduled csection.

My OB starts inernals at 36 weeks. Just say you are very crampy and that you wan tot be checked. They did it for me.
I am scheduled for 8/1. I am hoping to go early.

I was scheduled for a c=section at 39 weeks 2 days. My OB treated me the same as if it weren't, internals started at 36 weeks.

Not sure what an internal would really tell you, though. I had a scheduled CS but wound up going into labor 4 days prior. And at my internal, I was not dilated at all.

i had a scheduled c and he said no need for them
but they also checked my cervix every visit

They would tell me if I'm progressing (dialated at all... Cervix thinning). At least give me an idea of whether or not I'll be making it to my CS date - even though those things aren't a tell-tale sign of anything.
Thanks for all of the insight. I just don't want to go in there and look like an ass asking him to poke around
