2nd tri ladies .. Who else gets very winded verrrry easily?
I feel like it takes nothing for me to get so out of breath these days and I'm only 18wk3d! I was walking through Target yesterday and felt like I couldn't catch my breath, so obviously that wasn't anything strenuous.
Is this odd or normal?

I don't know if it's odd or normal but the same thing happens to me! I keep like I can never breathe! Granted I have asthma but I get winded VERY quickly lately. Just walking to my car is too much for me lately. I'm hoping this stops though because it's annoying that I feel like I can't do anything because I can't breathe.

I felt like that for a couple of weeks but now at 18 weeks, it's gone and I feel great. Just got back from vacation where we went to a couple of theme parks (Disney, ect) and I was able to keep up with DS and DH just fine. And there was no slowing them down:)

Me...I'm a first grade teacher so I do A LOT of talking and my students are used to me stopping to catch my breath. Also just doing regular household chores I find myself winded. I hear it's normal so I don't worry about it...just another fun preggo symptom.

This was my norm for the first tri, and it just recently came back....I'm 31 weeks and this morning I got so winded getting the laundry that I had to lay down for a minute before folding the laundry and going to work....

I commute, this morning one of the escalators were out, I was pretty sure I wasn't going to make it to the top of the stairs. It's so bad!!!!

Normal. I that point I was thinking if I can barely make it up the stairs now what will I be like near the end.
I thank god everyday I was pulled out of work at the beginning of the 3rd tri cause I never would have made it out of the subway. Someone would have had to carry me out one day.

Not so much feeling winded, but at times I feel like it is hard to take a deep breath. I used to be an asthmatic but haven't needed an inhaler for about 4 years. Over the past month I have used it 3-4 times.

Re: 2nd tri ladies .. Who else gets very winded verrrry easily?
I'm sure it's just a regular pregnancy symptom, but I just want to throw this out there- I was feeling the same way and when my doc looked at my bloodwork she said my iron level was low. She said the symptoms were tiredness and shortness of breath. I said I thought that was just normal! I've since upped my iron intake (when I can) and I actually feel a little better. Maybe ask your doc what your iron levels were in your last bloodwork?

Re: 2nd tri ladies .. Who else gets very winded verrrry easily?
as you know I'm only 1 week ahead of you and I've definitely been feeling winded for probably the last 2 weeks, I am noticeably slower walking to the train, like people now walk around me (and yes I'm usually THAT person, always in a rush, so now I know how it feels lol). I am so grateful I don't work in the Financial District anymore b/c I think they'd have to call an ambulance for me if I had to deal with all the steps at the Broadway Nassau stop! Now I just have 2 flights of stairs at my train station and that's bad enough!

I'm actually on iron and my levels are slowly going up, but still on the lower end.
I'm gonna ask my dr tomorrow about switching to a different type of iron that might be more effective. The one I'm on currently isn't great for my stomach anyway.
Thanks ladies! I just thought it was so odd (and concerning!) that I could barely keep up just to walk around Target! I was like........ WHAT am I gonna do for the entire next HALF of my pregnancy, especially when it's 95 degrees at the end?! Glad to know it's not just me!

OMG I had this so bad with DC1. It started in the first trimester, and just got worse.
I am lucky I don't have it this time, instead of my a perpetual stuffy nose, I am anemic, vitamin deficient, and had horrible morning sickness

I'm on Ferralet, which is a one a day iron pill. It has colace in it to help you stomach and Calcium to help your body absorb the iron, So far so good! It was a bit more money since it's prescription but I really like it.....

Thanks, I'll ask about this!
Originally they suggested Corvite but because of the price, I asked if there was anything less $$ so I went with Slow Fe which is over the counter. Eh. I'm not a fan ... I'll ask my dr tomorrow about the one you suggested as well as Corvite. Thanks!

I think I'm finally out of that phase ... for now.
But certain days -- absolutely and it used to be constant. Going to the grocery store felt like running a marathon.
