Anyone else get out of breath easily, earlier on? (1st/2nd tri)
It doesn't take much for me to be out of breath these days.. even just walking up the steps in my house while talking on the phone I start panting for air! I forgot to bring this up to my dr today at my appt.. Does this happen to anyone else?
I know it's common later on in pregnancy when the baby is pushing against your lungs, etc.. but I'm pretty early!

I think I was more out of breath in my first trimester than I am now in my 2nd. Not sure what it was.. maybe the lack of energy all together!

I definitely had that in my first trimester!!! I still have it now in my second, but not quite as bad.
DH is amazed how I'm huffing and puffing just walking up the stairs, or if we go for a walk together. He always looks at me and says "but I thought you go to the gym everyday?" -- I DO!!!! I can't help the huffing and puffing! Blah, he doesn't understand.
Anyway, sounds totally normal to me!

I got to the gym 3-4x's a week and everytime I go up stairs, I'm huffing and puffing by the time I'm at the top. I think its normal (i'm at 14wks)...

Totally normal! I had the same thing, its because of the hormones -- it actually gets better ( and then worse at the very end LOL )

It started pretty early for me, as well. I am not sure why...I guess your body is just working extra hard. Plus, any extra weight from the pregnancy probably contributes to it, as well.
feel better and take it easy

Re: Anyone else get out of breath easily, earlier on? (1st/2nd tri)
i was so out of breath from the very beginning. it has gotten better but i still get out of breath. And pre-pregnancy i was an avid gym goer. I had to stop working out when i got PG. Now i want to start back up doing little things like leg and arm exercises and some prenatal yoga. I;m afraid that i won't be able to breath at all. lol

Re: Anyone else get out of breath easily, earlier on? (1st/2nd tri)
Yup. My dr. told me that would happen--especially when I exercise. We live on top of a hill, so when I take my dog down the block, I'm huffing and puffing on my way back up. Once upon a time, I'd run up much larger hills.

I still get winded at 17 weeks. It was a little worse in the first tri but I find I still get easily winded walking up flights of stairs or if I carry something for too long. Its annoying.
ETA: this is especially true when Im on the phone. I tend to pace when Im talking.

Re: Anyone else get out of breath easily, earlier on? (1st/2nd tri)
Yes this happened to me especially in the 1st trimester. It def has eased a bit in my 2nd.
Werid thing is that I found out a little late I was pregnant and ran 6 miles one day when I was 6 weeks pregnant (I didn't know I was pregnant). Had no issues then, and about 3 weeks later I was totally out of breath walking up two flights of stairs.
I know people say you can run when you are preggers, but after that I was okay with giving it up for 9 months.
