Cost of IVF-not covered by ins
I was just wondering for any of you doing IVF at RSofNY if you could give me a ball park on how much it costs. I don't think my ins will cover many more IUIs so I want to start thinking about the next step. If you don't feel comfortable posting you can FM me. I know there are grants which I plan on looking into. My ins doesn't cover one iota of IVF so I am freaking out we may not be able to use this option (if it comes down to it )

A fresh cycle is like $8000 at RS of NY When I first went there they gave me a sheet with the prices. Most places have special packages where you get a a fresh cycle and 2 frozen for x amount of dollars. I actually found there prices to be a little cheaper than North Shore LIJ who gave a price of $13,500 for a fresh cycle when I was waiting for them to get authorization from my insurance which wasn't needed!

I believe the woman who handles it in Stony Brook is Aneuda (pronounced Anooda). I was inquiring about the same thing. I got around $9000 as a price. I don't remember the woman's name from Mineola, but she is TERRIBLE at calling patients back!!!!! TERRIBLE!!!!! She is who handles the grants. There were 40 people on the waiting list when I inquired a few months ago.

Yep. NYS gives the RE offices a certain amount of $ to use towards ladies who have no IVF coverage and need some financial help.
As far as the meds go, she told me that they may still be able to put the meds through the ins bc they are the same as the IUI meds. But the $9000 included the medications if I remember correctly.

The grant is so specific and you have to qualify. You have to make under a certain salary, your benefits need to be a certain way and blah blah blah. It's not as straight forward as ny state gives grants. I wish it was. It depends if you need high monitoring or low, ICIS or not etc. but it ranges from 9-15k and around 5k for meds

Oh and If you don't have infertility coverage you will need to pay for the meds after that aren't covered that will run another 500 or so.

How did we do it- it was the only way for us to have our baby an so we are sacrificing A LOT! But it was worth every cent. We also got some meds donated.

Re: Cost of IVF-not covered by ins
I have no infertility coverage so I'm paying for everything out of pocket at NSLIJ.
The quote for one round of IVF was about 10,000 I believe. We opted to do the Attain program which gives you 2 fresh cycles and 2 frozen cycles until you have a 'take home baby' which came out to about $20,000. We also took out a loan through Springstone so we will be making monthly payments of about $500 for 6 years.
Also, Attain doesn't cover all the medications you need for IVF. The meds cost us about $5,000 more.
It's not easy but it will be completely worth it if we get our little one!!
Good luck, let me know if you have any questions.

Re: Cost of IVF-not covered by ins
I'm currently exploring the same options through RSofNY. I'm awaiting for the financial department to call me back, but I have an IVF consult with Dr. Stelling on the 25th, so if I hear anything I will definitely let you know

Cost of IVF-not covered by ins
I am in same boat, I tried IUI x 6 cycles so far . My insurance covers monitoring but not the cost of the IUIS itself or IVF . No medication coverage. Pros IUI wise North Shore LIJ - 325 (IUI cost) + monitoring + copays RSNY - 350$ +monitoring +copays
But if u did back to back then RSNY cheaper(Unfortunately i did not know that and did back to back in NorthShore LIJ ) So RSNY charges only 175 bucks for the second IUI thats back to back North Shore full charge
So after almost 3000$ expenses with meds copays and IUI cost (did clomid, femera and injectibles x 1 cycles and no success)
IVF rates without meds RSNY - 5000 + 700 anesthesia fees+ 2500 Icsi fees + any cryo fees and storage fees So if u didnt need ICSI it could be cheaper than if u needed ICSI
Meds - Unfortunately not able to get any donation Krupners in Brooklyn is where RSNY placed my orders can u imagine the cost is 500$ per day Cost of bravelle is 50$ and Menopur is 68$ per vial I am on Day 3 ... 10 more days to go... and this is my last attempt .. so praying it works as financially too draining ...
Good luck to u , if u need any more information u can FM me , thanks
