I feel like a bad mom...
DH left today to go to Mardi Gras for a friend's bachelor party. I was suppose to go out for my friend's birthday tonight and Sunday I have a bridal shower to go to. MIL offered to take DS for the weekend since he was going to be there tonight and on Sunday. She was really excited about taking DS. She LOVES watching him. Well, tonight was cancelled and she still offered to take him. She said if it was okay with me she would drop DS back off on Monday. I'm still on maternity leave so I am with DS all day almost everyday.
I guess I feel like a bad mom for letting her keep DS the whole weekend. I just kinda needed some mommy time. Would you have done the same thing? If DH was home I probably would've let her take him tonight since she was excited to take him and then pick him up tomorrow.

I feel like a bad mom...
I would have done the same......plus, you're still on maternity leave, so you probably have a good amount of time left to be with him.
I would take the weekend to rela, unwind, feel refreshed!
You may just be overthinking it because you're mind isn't busy with what you had planned to do (the birthday party)
Don't feel guilty! :)

I feel like a bad mom...
I wish I had a few days just to relax. Do not feel guilty it is ok to have some alone time. If you start to miss him then go get him. Don't get stressed over it.

Oh dont feel bad. I would have taken that oppurtunity in a minute lol. Wouldnt have thought twice about it. You deserve your own time too..you are not a bad mommy

Very jealous of you. I need a break - DD is 6 weeks old and we've been having a lot of challenges with feeding and sleeping. I would have taken this offer in a heartbeat.
Don't feel guilty at all! Get some much needed you time. Take a looooooong shower and/or bath, workout, read, watch tv, relax, whatever.
You are lucky to have the help and support system.
We always do this to ourselves as women. I doubt your husband feels like a bad father for going on his trip (which he shouldn't). We are too hard on ourselves.

Don't feel bad! It is wonderful that she offered to do that. You deserve time off. You will pick him up and feel refreshed and rejuvenated. Enjoy your weekend and stay safe!!

HELL YEA I would have done the same thing. Think of it as time to recharge so you will be nice and fresh for your baby. Sleep in, veg out, go get your nails done. Enjoy !!

Good for you! You'll have LO for a lifetime. One weekend away won't make a difference and it's important for you to get time on your own. And, you probably made MIL so happy by letting her have LO for so the whole weekend. I think its a win/win!
