when do they start dropping naps?
DS is 3.5 months old but still naps after each feeding (Eat -> Play -> Sleep). He seems to make it longer and longer without getting tired but i was just wondering how long it'll take for him to completely skip one of the naps.
So when did your DC drop a nap? Also - how does that work exactly - do they drop one nap at a time?

how many naps is he taking now? DD was on 3 naps for awhile. Then the 3rd nap kept getting shorter then stopped, and the schedule shifted. Then she was on 2 naps for a long time. Now at 15m she's down to 1 nap. I feel like the schedule changes are connected with feeding schedule changes also.

He's napping after every meal ... so probably 5 or 6 naps per day. He's only 3.5 months old - i just don't know when it's "normal" to start dropping them.

I don't think there is a normal  but DD was definitely on 3 naps a day by that point - I know that because I had just gone back to work.
How is it going for you being back at work by the way??

I don't think my DS was nappign more than 3 times at that point. Morning, noonish and late afternnon.
Then he went down to 2. Mornign and late afternoon.
Now at 13 months he only takes one just after lunch unless he had a bad night or is sick.

We did eat, play, sleep as well so the number of naps would change as she spaced out her feedings. DD nursed every 2 hours for a loooong time so she did 4 naps most of the time until maybe 6 months when she finally stretched to 3 hours between feedings and 3 naps. In another month or two she went down to 2 naps. and feeding every 4ish hours. I definitely think it can vary a lot from kid to kid and as long as DC is happy, then just continue to follow their lead.

DS dropped to two solid naps between 6-7 months.
DS 1 dropped to one nap around 16 months and I think DS 2 might do it sooner (since the next room at daycare now is a one nap room instead of a 2 nap room like it was when DS 1 was there).

DS wouldn't last more than 2 hours of awake time for awhile. I thnk he was about 6 months when he was awake more, and he dropped down to 3 longer naps. That only lasted a little, by the timw he turned 8 months he was down to two longer naps.
