Chicago - Need hotel help, and a few other questions.
It looks like we will be going to Chicago in July to see Pearl Jam at Wrigley ( ), and I've never been there.
I like staying at boutique hotels, but am open to other suggestions.
Is Wrigley Field close to town (restaurants/shopping/cool sights)? If not, would you stay closer to Wrigley, or closer to everything else?
The show is on a Friday night, so I was thinking of going Thursday - Sunday.
Help
TIA!

I stayed at the W hotel- Lake Shore. It over looks Lk MI. It has beautiful views of the lake and navy pier. We took a cab to Wrigley and it wasn't too far.

Re: Chicago - Need hotel help, and a few other questions.
Few nice boutique hotels in downtown: Dana Hotel The Wit Hotel James Hotel Conrad Hotel
You can easily take the train to Wrigley from downtown or even take a cab.

Chicago - Need hotel help, and a few other questions.
I've stayed at the Westin on Lake Shore, the Hyatt on Wacker Dr.(might have changed names now) and the Sheraton just off Michigan - all were nice with different vibes/advanatges etc. The Westin is modern and has a fun bar on one of the upper floors; the Hyatt was really nice and close to Michigan Ave; the Sheraton - not quite as nice as the others, but absolutely fine and very inexpensive. I think Wrigley is a pretty close cab ride from any of them. The Hyatt and Sheraton were very close to Michigan Ave - tons of shopping. The Westin was within walking distance, but a bit of a hike. There are great restaurants in the Rush Street area (a very trendy "place to be seen" area) - Gibsons - GREAT for steaks, but $$$$,(and pretty much a "scene"), LuxBar and Quartino are 2 other faves. Also look into Zed451 for a totally unique restaurant with very different but great food. If you're looking for other things to do - I loved the Architectural boat tour; rented bikes and road along Lake Michigan and also took a guided bike tour of the city; Millenium Park/Grant Park are nice to see and there's often something going on there; and the Blues clubs are so much fun, esp Blue Chicago and House of Blues; and some really fun piano bars - Howl at the Moon and The Redhead Piano Bar. Sorry, I know this is way more than you asked for, but I love Chicago - such a great city!

Re: Chicago - Need hotel help, and a few other questions.
We went last spring and stayed here Majestic Hotel , we really liked the hotel, our room even had this cute little sitting room and was and efficiency. It was walking distance to wrigley field and the train, the only thing was it was actually in a fairly quiet residential neighborhood so it was a little more traveling around to see the main parts of the city then we would have liked.
One of my favorite parts of the trip was when we went o dinner here The Girl and a Goat , if you watch Top Chef it is Stephanie from the show's restaurant. It was soooo good, if you are interested I would make a reservation, we did not have a reservation but we got there right at 4:30 when they opened so they were able to seat us. Very much worth eating dinner at a time normally reserved for my grandma in Florida .

Stayed at The Dana Hotel a few months back and it was the perfect boutique style hotel. It is in the middle of the city so we could walk every place. Down the street is a cute bar that you can walk to called The Joynt. I always have a great time! The people are laid back and social. It is a great place to get out and have some fun with friends. They have different rooms with different bands and DJ in the downstairs room.
You can take a train to Wrigley that is what I have done a few times. It is really easy. It is much better to stay in the downtown area than out by Wrigley.

Oh, I forgot - also stayed at Hotel Sax one time - its right next to the House of Blues. Its a small, boutique hotel, kind of modern and funky - really nicely decorated rooms and right near almost everything (but probably still a cab ride ti Wrigley).
