Questions re: hotel pools
I realized that the hotel we're staying at for SIL's wedding weekend has an indoor pool. DS will be a little less than 6 months old and I thought it might be fun to take him into the pool. Is he old enough to go in a chlorinated pool? Would you take your 5.5 month old into a hotel pool? I'd buy swim diapers for him, but I'm wondering whether the hotel would even allow babies in a pool. Any thoughts?

Yes, I'd bring him! And I did at a hotel pool at the same age. At Saf-T-Swim they start teaching at 2 months.

Re: Questions re: hotel pools
I'm a little weary about hotel pools... one time, it was so chlorinated (or had some other unknown chem in there too) that I broke out in a rash all over my body
I suggest the first dip is taken w/o DS... if a few hours later, you're ok, then he can go in....
