Nursery Flooring - What type did you decide on?
We have wood floors throughout the house... when doing our son's nursery, we just put a big area rug in there. This time, I'm thinking of carpeting the twins' nursery but can't decide! I love plush/soft flooring in bedrooms, but the whole dust/allergen thing is throwing me off. What did you do?

(disclaimer: I realize it's early for me to be talking/thinking about this)
We really don't have much of an option though... The room we are using as a nursery is carpeted right now and does not have wood floors underneath. When we are ready, we will strip up and completely replace the carpet. It's pretty gross right now

It's pretty early for me to be thinking of this too!
We just cleared out the guest room which will be the nursery, so I just want to clean it up and make it look nice. If we decide on carpet, we will be carpeting Anthony's room too!

Not too early at all for you! I just said that for me because I feel like I'm still 5mins pregnant I think carpet is nice! Good job clearing out the room, I'm not looking forward to that. It still has boxes from when we moved here 3yrs ago.....

We did wood floors and an area rug for the twin room. So glad we did! We had 2 pukers so it was much easier to clean up! The area rug was inexpensive so not a big deal when I wanted to replace it.
We did the same for this baby.

We put in carpet. I love it because its plush for getting down on the floor to play with a baby and feel safe with them crawling around. We've had two children in the nursery and never had a catastrophe where we needed to worry about a stain (knock on wood). It's vacuumed weekly so I'm not worried about dust, etc.

Re: Nursery Flooring - What type did you decide on?
The second floor of our house is carpeted and I hate it (whoever decided LIGHT LIGHT LIGHT cream carpet was a good idea when they built this house was insane) and we had planned on redoing the floors at some point up there so when it came time to do the nursery we decided to start there. We had replaced the hallway/landing carpet with a darker color and now the nursery is wood with an area rug. We'll get to the master and the guest room eventually.

Re: Nursery Flooring - What type did you decide on?
For DD we had carpet. I didn't like it. I just don't like carpets in general I feel like wood is easier to keep clean. Since we are moving to a new house we're doing wood in the room that will be the nursery

Wood! We are going to put an area rug down in the middle of the floor but keep the rest of the wood floor exposed.

Carpet. I don't like anything else in bedrooms. Carpets are cozy and warm.

We did "wood" laminate. Carpet makes me feel creepy and we didn't want to put real hardwood down as we eventually plan on dormering our upstairs.

Re: Nursery Flooring - What type did you decide on?
We went back and forth with this. I do like the idea of carpet in the bedroom but the floors are only 2 years old and I felt to cover them with carpet would have then been a waste. We actually did decide like many on here to go with a larger size area rug. It will be muc easier to clean as well.

Nursery Flooring - What type did you decide on?
I was pregnant when we moved into the house we have now, so I knew we were redoing a room. The room I wanted to be the baby's room had a disgusting carpet in it. We pulled it up right away and there were hardwood floors underneath. Now, I LOVE hardwood floors, but I was just so afraid of LO getting out of his crib and falling onto a hard floor. I don't like area rugs because I feel like they get very dusty around the corners. We got a nice plush rug to put in the room and I love it!

We recently did our wood floors downstairs but didn't do it upstairs the whole house has hardwood floors. I am planning on redoing the nurserys floor but I'm keeping the wood and then use an area rug.

Re: Nursery Flooring - What type did you decide on?
first time around we did hardwood, now that we are having #2 I want carpet in the nursery and get carpet for my DS's room. It's just so cold with the hardwood and I think the carpet would really warm it up!

We have wood floors. I suppose I'll actually get an area rug at some point. Maybe after I install the curtain rods and hang the curtains and hang their canvases.
