BTDT- What happens at a genetic counseling meeting?
DH and I have our meeting on Friday and I don't know what to expect. What happens? How long is it? TIA!

BTDT- What happens at a genetic counseling meeting?
For me, it wasn't that long. They went over our family tree, asking if anyone had anything wrong with them. Then they explained the results again from my NT scan, and told me what would happen if I had an amnio done and the reasons why they suggest it. I only had to go because my numbers for Down Syndrome came back high. I don't know if this is the case for you.

I think I was in and out of there in 1/2 hr.

Our counseling meeting was short as well. All of our results were normal but they just wanted to explain to us what they meant and about other testing options available should we want them.

BTDT- What happens at a genetic counseling meeting?
My meeting was probably about an hour when I went last year. I went for a counseling session based on a previous pregnancy with a fatal birth defect :( They reassured me of the odds of it happening again. They went through the family tree and were pretty thorough with testing options etc. Good Luck!!
