did anyone skip work today? minor vent
dh was supposed to clean off my car this AM but he "forgot" so i went down and did it myself. but then i realized that i got plowed in and needed to do a little shoveling to get my tiny car out, so that wasnt happening. i just went back home but im so pissed bc the roads are fine and otherwise there's no reason why i should've missed work today  plus im soo uncomfortable from the exertion and the twins are killing me today now.
anyone else stay home?

i'm so sorry! i don't blame you for not shoveling at all! how did he get his car out? or was it already out on the road and not blocked in?
I usually take the trainto work and it was a mess getting to the train station and into the city this morning

My school was closed today. Even if it was open I planned on staying home today.
You did the right thing- you need to rest!! Take care of those babies!

I'm working from home.
It wasn't worth dealing with this weather when I have the option available to me.
Shoveling is def something I would pull the pregnancy card on!!!!

Definitely no shoveling when pregnant! Not with twins and this far along! DH got up and shoveled this morning (while I slept). But we both commute via the subway so we didn't need our cars. He just did the side walk and front of the house.

The snow was really heavy - you definitely should not be shoveling!! We had our power back last Thursday and then boom, last night it went out again. My son's daycare closed early, so I had to rush to get home (subway to LIRR to car to daycare - ahhhh). My husband was trapped at Penn Station, didn't get home until midnight... and then the icing on the cake, daycare called at around 10:30 PM that they're closed today... so, I also didn't go to work. So glad I saved all of these days for my maternity leave, urgh! I'm so frustrated - a 2-year old, 31-weeks pregnant and no power is not a good combo! Can't wait to get back in the cattle car they call the LIRR tomorrow :(

I'm working from home. I didn't want to shovel out this AM (my hubby is away!) and was nervous about getting stuck for 4 hours on the evening commute

I stayed home today. I'm sick though. DH has been doing a great job taking care of me so I got up this morning and wiped his car down.
I would not have shoveled though. I would've done the same thing in your situation.
