When did you start working on the nursery?

Like painting etc?

I feel like I am being a little OCD this time because last time we were waiting to close on our house and I was on bedrest so I was unable to help at all with the nursery (we closed after the babies were born).

We have a moderate amount of work to do.
-move playroom/office stuff
-close up a closet in the living room to make the babies room bigger.
-knock some walls down in babies room (it is shaped weird).

I want to paint stripes on the wall and I know if I don't do it my DH won't so I am anxious to get started with all the work.

So when did everyone start their nursery?
Thanks.

oh and we are team Chat Icon . I plan on doing greys and then having girl and boy decorating things picked out to order right after he/she is born.

phew...sorry that was so long I just had the stomach virus so I have been stuck inside for 4 days!! can you tell I am bored?

I waited till after the anatomy scan to even think about it. We painted before we moved in to the new place, around 25 weeks and got the cribs at 28 weeks, same week as my shower. But I'm doing everything early since it's twins.

Re: When did you start working on the nursery?

We were using our nursery as crap storage so we had to clear it out. We painted well after 20 weeks so we k ew the genders. I think it was around 25 weeks and set up the nursery around 33/34 weeks.

When did you start working on the nursery?

We painted around 22 weeks and we're replacing the rug soon (probably around 25-26 weeks) and then we're done until furniture comes in. I think it's a little early, but we just bought this house and we have so much other stuff to do, we wanted that out of the way!

Re: When did you start working on the nursery?

I started sorting out the stuff in the nursery in my first trimester. We then had to drop some stuff off at storage and some to charity at around 20 weeks.

We painted the room around 22 weeks and I ordered the furniture once the painting was done.

Now at 28 weeks, we are pretty much done other than decorative crafts that I am working on. I also have to order a mattress but will do that soon.

We registered around 22 weeks and I am waiting for my shower for all the bedding and stuff.

I'm happy I got the sorting/cleaning/painting done while I wasn't too big and was able to help.

We started on it at 28-29 weeks. I got the carpets cleaned first, then painted, sorta decorated and organized closet. We have some things hung and some placed on his book shelf. But there is a lot more to go lol.

Thanks everyone!
I just looked at our calender and there is not starting in the next few weeks bc our weekends are jammed packed.

Hopefully we can start the big work by 20 weeks. In the mean time I am been re organizing closets etc like a mad woman!

I am also going to try refinishing/painting an old dresser...hope to start that soon!

When did you start working on the nursery?

We cleared out the room and painted at 20 weeks, this weekend we picked out a book case and new flooring which will be installed next weekend at 22 weeks. The area rug and other accesories have been ordered and are mostly on their way. My mother is ordering the bedding and she orderd the crib at the same time we did the dresser/changing station and that can all be delivered any time after weeks so we knew we wanted the painting and flooring done before that date.

Re: When did you start working on the nursery?

we painted the room green when we moved in 4 years ago and it is a room that is not really used... just has extra furniture in it. This wknd at 20 weeks I touched up the walls with the paint. we emptied our the furniture a few weeks ago and will be getting rid of it in the next couple of weeks.

My shower is kinda early because i am accountant and had to work around busy season and then the holidays right before. So my shower is 12/1 and the furniture is coming the week before my shower most likely.

I cleared out the room (my contribution to the demo) around 14 or 15 weeks. I figured I'd do it while I had the energy and wasn't too big (hardly showing). At 20 weeks DH started work on the room. He had to remove all the paneling and molding that the previous owners put up. Now at 26 weeks he needs to prep the wall and have someone come to replace the ceiling. I hope this all gets done before I'm 30 weeks! Then we'll have to paint; and I can get started decorating. My goal is to have everything done by 36 weeks (10 weeks from now) which is December 15th.

Re: When did you start working on the nursery?

I'm 34 weeks. We painted 10 days ago but that is about it. Still need to move out the guestroom furntiure and nursery furntiture will arrive this coming weekend. I really don't worry about it because I will decorate later (we have furniture, a rug and bedding coming). This baby will have a crib and dressers and that is really all he needs. I don't stress out over this kind of stuff - decorating takes me time as I am very picky. Hoping to clean out the closet which I use for storage ths weekend if I have any energy.
