Moms pregnant with #2- how do you do it?

I am very early in my pregnancy and I'm already wiped out. I am tired all the time and I feel nauseous for most of the day. I'm a FTWM. I am having such a hard time spending the type of quality time with DS that I'm used to. I feel myself getting cranky and impatient with him and I don't want to. I just feel so wretched. How do you do it? How do you survive these early weeks of pregnancy (and everything that comes with it) and still be a good mommy? I feel like I'm failing at it.

Almost 17 wks and still exhausted most of the time. It's so hard the second time around, no time to rest.

I feel like I slept pretty much the whole first trimester. My DD is older, so she understands better why I couldn't do things with her.

Most women get their energy back (I know I did) in the 2nd trimester. So you can always look forward to that.

Sorry I'm not much help, but I know that early in the pregnancy when you need to lay down, you NEED to lay down.

I felt exhausted and nauseous the entire first trimester. I was constantly looking forward to DS's nap or bed time. Once I hit my second trimester I got energy back and felt better.

Moms pregnant with #2- how do you do it?

I'm at the very end now with only 2 weeks to go, but there have definitely been times I snapped at her then gave her several extra hugs and kisses and assured her I love her. When she steps on my feet and it hurts so bad, it's hard not to get mad. But I love her so so much and just tell her all the time. I try to give her special time together and I let her jump on my head all the time since she can't get into my lap anymore. We hug a lot, too. DD is only 21 months, though.

I feel bad I can't do more for her and with her, but I keep promising myself that this baby brother is the best gift I could ever give her, and I think she's going to be the best big sister in the world! She loves babies so much -- I can't wait to bring her new brother home for her! She's going to love him, and then I can get back to showing her I love her more and not feeling like crud all the time. It's just a few rotten months waiting. Eye on the prize!

I lose my patience more than I would like Just do the best you can and remember it's short term in the grand scheme of things

being pregnant the 2nd time around is so much harder!! i have a 3yr old DD and the poor thing has been stuck in the house becasue i seriously cant get off the couch:( ive been SOOOO sick. i wasnt like this for DD. its awful:(

My patience is thin too and I feel so bad! I easily get annoyed by all the whining :(. I have 20 month old twins so they don't understand at all.
The first tri was rough. My husband was working long hours, I was throwing up with 2 little heads right next to me....but now I am 15 weeks and I got my energy back for the most part. Hang in there and do the best you can. Rest during nap time and try to do something little for yourself if you can!
