Maybe TMI but question for girls who were on birth control
DH and I wanted to start to TTC in September. I went off BC to get AF regulated. It has been about a month and I still haven't gotten it yet.
How long did it take for you to get AF back? FYI When I was on BC I never got AF so i'm getting nervous now!

When you go off of BCPs your cycle usuallly returns to what it was prior to being on pills. That being said, the first few months can be wonky. I'd give it another 3-4 weeks. if you still don't get AF, then call your dr.

Ditto. If you didn't get AF regularly beforehand, I would wait another month and then if you still don't have it, go to your doctor. Are you sure you are ovulating?

Re: Maybe TMI but question for girls who were on birth control
I went of BC in April - got AF April 20, and didn't get AF until June 5.
I called my doctor during this time, and she told me that it can take 3-6 months to regulate, however, that doesn't mean that you aren't ovulating. You can still get pregnant even if you aren't getting AF.
In addition, I was irregular prior to BC (when I was 18). My doctor also said that most people grow out of this. I can potentially still be irregular, but not everyone goes back to the cycles they had prior to BC.
Hope that helps!

usually your cycles go back to what they were prior to being on the pill. Do you have PCOS, that might cause your periods to be irregular - what was the cause of your irregularity prior to the BCP?

It's highly unlikely you can get pg without ever getting AF. That's part of a normal, healthy cycle. If you're not shedding your lining, something is probably off.

Re: Maybe TMI but question for girls who were on birth control
Before going on BC I was pretty regular. I mean it wasn't the same exact time every month but I always got it. When I stopped getting it on BC my doctor said it was normal because the placebo was only 4 days. I have no idea of i'm ovulating. I guess I should take a ovulation test? Thanks ladies
