Queens Zoo
Anyone go there? How is it? DH is off this week and we want to plan a family day! We did Bronx Zoo last year and have already done the Game Farm. Was thinking of going here but haven't heard much about it.

Re: Queens Zoo
I have gone a few times, and went last week. I like that zoo because it is small and closer than the others. We walked around the zoo and fed the animals and it took about 2 hours...you could definitely stretch it out a bit though. Plus, you could always bring a picnic lunch and eat in the park, we have done that too.

Re: Queens Zoo
Love that zoo! It's small and the animals are a lot closer than the Bronx Zoo so my 18m DS loves it. We are always in and out in less than 2 hours, so I really wouldn't plan an entire day around it.

Queens Zoo
love the queens zoo... nice and small and easy to get around. Plus parking is free. there is a farm part where you can feed the animals. we went last weekend and rode the carousel in the park as well.

Queens Zoo
I haven't gone there yet but I have heard great things about it. It's smaller then the Bronx Zoo and family friendly (and very clean). We purchased the Bronx Zoo yearly premium membership for $144 and it entitles us entrance to not only the Bronx Zoo (and all of their exhibits, 10% off of food and merch, free parking, etc...), but also to the Queens Zoo, New York Aquarium and the Central Park Zoo. I think it's worth the investment if this is something you'll do more than twice within the year!

Re: Queens Zoo
Love it! We were just there on Wednesday. As others said, it's small, so much easier to do with little ones. There's the zoo and then right across the road is a little petting zoo. We've been there a few times and it's great.

Not per person........per family. We just got the annual pass a few weeks ago and it was $164 and it includes DH, DD, myself, plus one other guest. You also get free parking everywhere and discounts on food and souvenirs. It's a good deal.

Re: Queens Zoo
yeah, the zoo membership was really worth it this year as they included unlimited free parking and the attractions! I think ours was $146 for the year for the whole family. we have easily recouped that money by the end of May! The Queens Zoo is small but nice for a long morning.

Re: Queens Zoo
Love it! It is small and manageable for me to do alone with the kids which, I find difficult with the Bronx Zoo. It has just enough to entertain the kids and be interesting and exciting without being overwhelming! It is always clean and not that crowded when we have gone. The only pain is there are no real food options and the vending machines are $$$$! Also, there is a bit of a walk from the parking lot through a park. Also, I do recc the pass that others have mentioned if you plan to go to any of the other parks this summer - central park zoo, bronx zoo, acquarium etc. HTH!

Re: Queens Zoo
It's cute.
Small area with domestic animals petting zoo. This was a big hit.
Larger area with animals and birds. Pretty trails. Animals are hard to see if you are very small... The aviary was a big hit with my son but he could nearly se the bears.
Much cheaper than bronx zoo.
It's def something to see... But imo not as great as Bronx zoo.

Re: Queens Zoo
we go at least once a week....im a sahm and its great bc i can take my kids by myself bc its not an overwhelming zoo like the bronx zoo can be when you're alone so id rather go to the queens zoo alone and to the bronx zoo as a family when my husband is off...we have the membership so we'll go to feed the animals and then go on the other side where you feed the ducks and then we'll go to the playground at then end so we don't go through the whole zoo if we don't feel like it that day....i used to go with my parents when i was a kid and had great memories of it and now i can give that to my kids
