Looks like I won't be leaving my house at all this summer
I went to run errands in my jeans today and had to rip my clothes off as soon as I got home. It was so hot out. And I can't find clothes. All I want is a simple pair of summer capris. The thin stretchy ones. Not twill because twill is thick and too hot for summer and not stretchy yoga pant material because I don't want to basically be in sweats all summer.
I need 16/18W, not regular 16/18. I tried penneys, motherhood, macys, kohls, Avenue, Old Navy, Gap and everything else that came up on google. A larger size will just be too big everywhere else and not look right and not accommodate my huge belly to come so I need maternity.
I don't wear shorts ever and I have a few long dresses but even they are hot in the summer so I need capris.
Where do you buy PLUS SIZE capris. Please help because I'm really about to cry over here. I don't even care what they cost at this point.

i can't help with the capris but i just wanted to suggest a skirt? i bought this cute knee length skirt from old navy. it wasn't maternity, but it's made from that stretchy lightweight cotton material and the waist band is one that folds over so it definitely accomodates a growing pregnant belly. so it'd be shorter than a long dress but more covering than shorts. i wore it today and was outside a lot and it felt good.

I need below the knee at least and tea length looks weird so I wear long only.

My niece buys her clothes at the plus size store in the Broadway Mall. The name is Torrid. They might have some.

Motherhood doesn't have any lightweight plus capris and torid only showed one dress when I pulled up maternity. It's like they don't exist!! :(

Re: Looks like I won't be leaving my house at all this summer
*Crashing onto this forum to just let you know that both Target and Macy's Plus Size section have elastic banded capri's. They're light and airy which is nice. I know you're pregnant and will need something that'll work for you throughout the summer but maybe just for now and they'll definitely stretch with you for a bit? The Target one's are $24.99 and the Macy's ones were on sale for $25! Good Luck!

Re: Looks like I won't be leaving my house at all this summer
Hi Im not sure what sizes they have but Burlington Coat Factory usually has a ton or maternity capris.
I know this is not considered a nice store and I dont usually buy clothes there but I dont like to spend more than $12-$13 on maternity stuff since it is all so cheap and ugly, LOL.
THe capris I got are really cute and loose and were only $8 or $12.
I wore them to the beach this weekend b/c I wont wear shorts or a bathing suit when preggo!
Good luck!

Thanks ladies. I ended up finding some at Motherhood. Now lets hope they are comfy and fit right.

Re: Looks like I won't be leaving my house at all this summer
I am plus size and have not found TOO much at MOtherhood, but what I have found and LOVE are their pants that roll up to capris. I have literally 5 pairs b/c they are about all I can tolerate in the warmer months.
I actually buy the "regular" XL - and it fits well, better than the plus size ones. In regular clothes I wear a 20 (Plus)

Really?? I got the 1x thats 16/18W. I normally wear 16/18W in regular clothes. I'm wondering if I can get XL if they are cut bigger. That would open more options. I also just ordered 2 dressess and 4 tanks from Gap. Im setting up my summer waredrobe now since I hate shopping.

Re: Looks like I won't be leaving my house at all this summer
I found that maternity clothes sizing was all over the place which never helps in determining what size to get im usually a size 16 and had luck with capris from Motherhood Maternity in both sizes L and XL. I did find that the lighterweight ones (at least last summer) ran smaller and the XL were just right for me. I also had lots of luck at Target wearing just regular non maternity clothes - i got several dresses there that were empire waist that really were cool in the summer time.
Old Navy currently has some capris in the store that may work for you - they're not maternity but they have a great elastic waist that sits below your belly. try these or these
don't get hung up on just looking for maternity clothing, there are plenty of other options that can work for you and still be comfortable

Yup. I have only purchased (from Destination Maternity) regular size XL. No plus sizes, unless it's a fitted (non stretchy) top. I swear by them!
