Any other plus size ladies TTC?
I am deathly afraid that I am going to try to find a RE and they won't help me because I am overweight. I have been going to the gym and doing WW down about (8lbs) but I am still scared. I mean I know there are other risks associated with being pregnant at a high weight but I don't have anything else wrong and all my hormone panels came back normal. Are there plus size friendly RE's out there?

Re: Any other plus size ladies TTC?
i'm plus sized as well. i have high cholestrol issues, and vitamin d def. i'm on vitamin D and Fish oil for cholestrol. I go to the gym 1-2x a week. Finding a gym partner has been hard since i have free gym in my complex and can bring up to 2 people with me. I have a bike at home i go on 20-30mins mostly 3x a week. i've lost 41lbs in the past 11mths. it hasn't been easy. i still have another 30lbs to go.

Re: Any other plus size ladies TTC?
<----- right here! My RE told me to lose at least 30lbs before beginning any type of treatment, and while I was losing the weight we did b/w and DH's SA. I've only lost 19 lbs, but I'm planning on going back next month to discuss the results and see what are plan is. DH has a low sperm count as well as morphology and motility issues, and I have PCOS and do not ovulate on my own. We're a whole big mess .

Re: Any other plus size ladies TTC?
I just wanted to say that I see women of all sizes at my RE's office. But think about it like this - before you carry your child, try to get into the best shape possible so you can give your baby a healthy body to develop in.
Also, if it comes down to fertility treatments - they aren't easy! The hormones make you lose weight. You're also restricted from most high impact aerobics so your workouts will suffer. Losing weight ahead of time puts you ahead of the game.
Good luck to you all!

Omg, I meant the hormones make you gain weight. I WISH they made me lose weight. After 5 months on this stuff, I just had to buy pants the next size up.

Re: Any other plus size ladies TTC?
I'm a plus size momma to be.. My RE never ever mentioned my weight. I got pregnant on my 3rd IUI. I went to RSOFNY and saw Dr. Halfen and Dr. San Roman. Loved the docs and the office!

Re: Any other plus size ladies TTC?
i'm overweight, i wouldn't say i'm obese by any means but i wear a size 14/16 comfortably. My doctor did ask me if i intended to lose weight or if this is just me and i let him know i have been this size for more than 8 years. he didn't mention it again and he is a pleasure to work with. if you have no other issues, no doctor should turn you away just because your heaver than "Average" and if they do, you don't want to work with them anyway

Re: Any other plus size ladies TTC?
i'm overweight and am about to start an ivf cycle. i have seen 3 RE's and only one of them brought up my weight and that wasn't until i outright asked him. all of the doctors have told me to go ahead and do treatments while working on eating healthy and losing weight.

just wanted to say, I stopped the hormones in December when my last pregnancy ended and I lost 10lbs for the first time since we started all of this about 2 1/2 years ago. It's crazy what these hormones can do!!!
Sorry OP, I know this didn't answer your question!!

Re: Any other plus size ladies TTC?
I am considered overweight by my PCP, but my RE hasn't said anything in regards to my weight. 5'9 200lbs currently and when I first began the IVF process I was 185. I've been eating healthier since starting, and exercising (kickboxing class 3xs a week), but I continue to gain. I think its the hormones.

Re: Any other plus size ladies TTC?
I am plus size, and it is the first thing he brought up during our consult. They suggested I lose weight (I was like....duh) but I went through all f the preliminary testing, and they were still willing to go ahead with the iui, and at that point I made the choice to lose some weight and go back when I am healthier. I am now down 20 lbs with another 40 to go? I plan on going back in September and going forward with the iui if it doesn't happen naturally. I still am very torn about getting Preggo at this weight....but I plug on (because more than likely it will not happen naturally).
I felt like if my weight is percentage against me getting Preggo than I want to better my chances by losing weight before using what insurance money I have left getting the procedure. But this was a personal decision and I don't think it should hold someone back from going to an RE.
Good luck!!!!

Re: Any other plus size ladies TTC?
Thank you all ladies for your responses. They were very reassuring! I know that losing wieght is always a positive to provide a healthier situation for baby and me but I just don;t want some doc telling me no way not gonna happen. I might hit him/her ! I was talking to my friend and we were laughing because I was bugging out like I see heavy women all the time with like 6 kids trailing after them, I just want one damn it!!
