Refinishing stairs
Has anyone had their wood staircase refinished recently? Could you recommend who you used, and how much it cost? I remember a thread mentioning a company who charges around $300 to do this, but I can't find the company name.

I know it's expensive. I can't imagine the $300 including the ENTIRE STAIRCASE. My stairs were more then that (don't remember exact amount) and that was just for the landing of each step. That did not include the toe kicks, sides or banister. We painted all that white and just have the finished landings on each step.

Are you or your husband Handy at all? I actually refinished the stairs myself. It is quite easy.
If your interested in this let me know and I will tell you how to do it.
There are other people on this forum that have done them their selves and have saved money.

try gold star floors, i used them to finish my bedroom, hallway, stairs, LR and DR and the price wasn't bad at all, i wouldn't imagine they would charge very much for just stairs.

We just used them for our LR, DR, stairs and 2nd floor hallway. Excellent work.
