If you have an old, nasty bathroom
do you refuse to take a bath in the tub no matter how good you clean it? We rent our house, it's such a cute little house from the 20's but the previous owners redid the bathroom in the late 60's/early 70's and it's puketastic! There is mold caked into the grout in the shower area and no amount of bleach scrub on an old toothbrush or even on a bigger grout brush, no magic eraser, no letting the bleach soak for a long time has worked. It's still friggen nasty looking. Even though the mold in on the walls in the grout it just skeeves me out thinking about sitting in the tub even after I clean it. EWWWWW.

Muriatic acid will take the mold out of the grout.
Wear a mask, ventilate the space, use a toothbrush.
It's miraculous.
I think it strips a layer of grout - doesn't "clean" it per say, so don't let it sit or anything.
But trust me - it works.

Re: If you have an old, nasty bathroom
I know how you feel, and I wouldn't be able to.
That's why the day we got the keys to the house, we started to gut the bathroom. It's the only room that got completely renovated...I couldn't stand being in someone elses filth...even if it was "clean".

Re: If you have an old, nasty bathroom
Even though our tub isn't that bad (my old house was wayyy worse) I would NEVER sit in it. I also never let my DD sit in it. I still use the Toddler tub in there, and my DD is 3. Just skeeves me. Once we get a new bathtub then surely we would sit in it.

Re: If you have an old, nasty bathroom
Look in my album! I hated that disgusting tub.
DS only took bath in a baby bath tub. We only took shower.
I could not wait for a new tub so DS could take a "normal" bath.

Same here... never have I taken a bath in it and DS was in his baby tub until a few weeks ago and now he takes showers with one of us and he is only 15 months old. I won't let him sit in it lol

Re: If you have an old, nasty bathroom
We had problems with mold in the bathroom when we first bought our house and DH re-did the grout and we have not had issues since.
I just spray some of that bleach cleaner all over every few days.
Otherwise, I like to use the minty Method products because they smell like a spa.
Maybe you can work something out with the LL to freshen it up in there.
