Re: What would you serve at an outdoor party in July?
We catered with hot food last year (chicken fingers, mac & cheese, baked ziti, meatballs), salad, etc because I promised DH if we had a party he wouldn't have to grill!

We are having Sophia's first bday mid July. Most likely we are catering italian food and a hero. Anytime we have a BBQ, we don't get to enjoy it has much.

WE are doing similar. DD birthday party is being held at the house late JUne.....even though for most parties we do BBQ food....I do not want to miss a second of DD's party because we are handling the grill ect....so we are catering with salads and heros. And the night before I am going to make a few trays of meatballs, baked ziti, sausage and peppers.

On a hot humid day like today, I would gravitate toward a watermelon, hollowed out, filled with fruit!!! Would be so refreshing!!! Mary

We are doing similar too, but I am not even doing trays of food (except for chicken fingers/fries for the kids). DD's party is at a park in mid-July ( the weather cooperates) and I don't want to have to deal with keeping things hot, so I am keeping it super simple...
lunch: heros chips veggies and hummus chicken fingers and fries
dessert: cupcakes fruit kabobs
My goal is that no one need utensils
