Need Cablevision Pricing Help
The cost of optimum is getting out of hand, however they are our only option in the area. Before I call and start delteing services, I was wondering if anyone would share how much they pay for just family cable (no premium channels) and internet. Their website confused the cr@p out of me (and I'm sure they do it on purpose)

we thought we were stuck with them too since we dont have fios by me, but verizon has a deal with directv. similar to cablevisions triple play. phone and internet thru verizon and tv thru directv. we are very happy with it so far, been almost a year.

I keep getting fliers in the mail saying all three for 69.95 from cablevision...maybe call them and fight for pricing?

I have this $69.95 package. I get the triple play with one box with dvr, no movie channels or anything extra. It's all I need and the price is great.

We are in a contract that is about to expire but for now we pay $124 for:
2 boxes
1 DVR
HBO on Demand
internet
phone
We do get some premium channels...HBO, Starz (The only ones we don't get are Showtime, Flix, Cinemax and some of the other movie stations).

Honestly, reading through the responses, and seeing how much everyone pays...with all do respect. Everyone is getting ripped off. Cable, phone and internet at almost $200 per month!! RIDICULOUS! (Aside from the one who pays $70)
I was completely fed up, and called to complain about my prices ($180 month), and how cheap direct tv was, (no fios in my area yet). They gave me nearly $90 off!
If you are mad enough and seriously willing to spend the time on the phone, I would try it!
Also, most complexes allow dishes, your patio or balcony need to face a certain direction, and it cannot be mounted to the building. Check your lease, there is usually a satellite addendum.

I hate CV! Sadly it is the only provider at the moment where I live. I can't wait to go back to FIOS.

I *think* I have IO Silver. It is all the basic channels plus Stars and Showtime.

It's so true. I HATE Cablevision, their prices are ridiculous and their customer service SUCKS!!!!
Thanks for the tip, I will definitely have DH call them and try to haggle with them!
