WWYD?

DH and I were so excited to try this month. I had some weird things happen with my temps at the beginning of the month and then spotted for about 5-6 days, more like light bleeding, but not period blood. So I had also posted that I went to my reg. dr. and she believes I have a thyroid problem which is causing the spotting and possibly even my m/c. So I went for bloodwork, sono today of it, and will go see her for results on Monday. Of course today on CD22 I get my smiley! I guess in my heart I know that I shouldn't try this month due to the spotting and possible thyroid problems, but I'm so tempted to after seeing the smiley!! WWYD? Posting my chart just so you can see how crazy my temps were.

Re: WWYD?

I went to the doctor because I was TTC but then had increasingly irregular periods and then got some brown spotting at what was then CD48-52 I think, and nothing but negative pregnancy tests.

Turns out that I had a thyroid problem. My doctors (OB/GYN and Endocrinologist) advised me to stop TTC until they could get a handle on my TSH levels and a formal diagnosis of what my thyroid problem was.

It sucked to stop, but I took their advice. I had just gotten enough disappointments and surprising bad news (I had no idea I had a thyroid problem - irregular cycles were my only symptom), and didn't want to risk getting pregnant and then miscarrying.

It only took 7 weeks of medication though to get my thyroid under control - not as bad as I thought it would be.

Thank you for responding with your experience. I am terrified of having another m/c and know that I should wait until this is all figured out. She didn't tell me to stop trying, but I assumed that I probably should wait. The stories from others who have gone through this will definitely help. It's just so hard to wait when we were excited that we could finally start trying again this month. Thanks again!!

No problem! Hopefully you get answers soon so it's only a slight delay!

If it were me, I'd wait. It'd be really hard, but in the end, the best decision for the pregnancy.
