WEDNESDAY QOTD
Good morning, ladies. Happy "Hump" Day
Today's question is sort of a spin-off from one of last week's questions.
Are there any activities that you will absolutely want your kids to try? Anything you want them to avoid?
For a , I will have her enrolled in dance class as soon as she can walk.
For a , I will have him in t-ball as soon as he can hold a bat.
I won't make them continue if they really don't like these activities, but I at least want them to try because I love both dance and baseball. I also don't think there's anything I will want them to avoid.

Re: WEDNESDAY QOTD
Definitely soccer whether they are boys or girls mianly because they can start as young as 3 and I want my kids to be active.
DH would love hockey but I just dont know if we will be able to afford.
I did everything in the book, my list would scare off most people. I did everything from chess club to horseback riding lessons
I'd love for them to be into music like DH & I were and maybe karate. I'll let them choose what they want to do when it comes down to it.

like previous posters -- dance / t-ball or soccer... but when they get older if they don't like it they don't have to do it --

Re: WEDNESDAY QOTD
Musical instrument for sure. We already plan on starting with a toy piano, drums and a guitar and if they show interest in any of those toys we'll have them take lessons.
When they are older anything they want. Most little boys I know start with soccor and little girls with dance or gymnastics. I know I did those activities as a kid. The only thing we'll try and force on them from a young age is music. We have musicians in the family and we both love music. I think playing an instrument is a great talent to have and a good hobby. Its a lot easier to pick up when you are young so that is why I want to encourage it early on and see if anything comes of it.
My husband likes soccer, surfing, hockey and football so I'm sure that he'll want to play those sports with our children whether they are boys or girls!

Re: WEDNESDAY QOTD
When they are very young (2-6) I plan on putting both in
Dance Tumbling / Gymnastics Soccer Craft Cooking (my nephew who is 6 has been doing this for 1 1/2 yrs and LOVES it) Swimming Drama Music
DH wants them both to also be involved in Lacrosse when they are 3
I will let them pick & choose once they are about 6 yrs old (unless they are completely miserable in any of the above activities)
The ONLY thing that I am completely against is no activities. Throughout their childhood they are going to have to pick at least 1 thing to do that gets them to use their minds / bodies and gets them off the couch!

Re: WEDNESDAY QOTD
If I could choose an activity, I would say dance for my future daughter and soccer for my future son.
But I wont make them do anything they don't want to. If they hate it they can quit. But I'd like them to be open to try new things.

ITA. Nothing worse than a wasted mind and body. And it keeps them out of trouble.

Re: WEDNESDAY QOTD
DH played college football so Im sure he will want DS to try that, but I would love for either DS or DD to try soccer. I would be happy if they played any sport that they loved and continued throughout High School and even college. Dance would def be attempted with DD.
