my one sister wanted natural birth and she had one and my other sister took the epidural..

so how high is your tolerance for pain? do u think u will be a screamer? do u want to go natural?will u be tugging dh by the neck screaming u did this to me!

i like to think i have a pretty big tolerance for pain..in saying that in that moment i could be screaming..i am going to try my best to keep it down and go natural but i am not opposed at all to the drugs!!!! if need be i will gladly accept

Re: ***********QOTD*********

all three of my sisters have had CS's... thats 6 kids born to sections...

my SIL has had 2 natural births... but the babies were super small... Ciccone girls give birth to monsters...

it depends how big the baby is really... id rather not do too much damage down there... and you get more time with a cs than natural birth

I wasn't opposed to having the epi, I just wanted to wait till I was at least mostly dilated before getting it. That didn't happen with DS. I was induced and on Pitocin, when they broke my water I couldn't handle the contractions. I got the Epi when I wasn't even past 1 cm. Never made it past that.... right to a CS! Next DC will probably be a CS too, though I may go for a VBAC.

I have a pretty high tolerance for pain BUT I am a huge complainer. So even if I'm not in that much pain, I'll be complaining so much that you think I am. I will prob be taking advantage of whatever painkillers the hospital will give me though.

Re: ***********QOTD*********

to be honest...I'm not sure what my pain tolerance is. I mean I have had pain b/f but never anything intense IMO.

I've never broken a bone (**knock wood**), had major surgery, or anything else.

So, I think I'm a pretty tough chick but when it comes to the business down there and the whole squeezing a person out...who knows.

I do think I will be a screamer if there is any pain but as of now...I'm getting all the meds they will give me Chat Icon

I think I have a pretty good tolerance for pain but I don't think I'd be able to have a drug free labor. My mom did it twice though Chat Icon

Re: ***********QOTD*********

great question, I have a pretty good pain tolerance. I recently had knee surgery and everyone was amazed at my ability to endure and recover.

Now I know that this is a WHOLE different ball of wax but I am definitely open to trying natural. My Mom gave birth to 5 of us naturally, I'd like to think I can too.

I practice yoga, gyrotonic and pilates and believe that the breath allows you to create a sense of balance in the body...I want to believe I can do this. Once we're preggers, I'll reevaluate how I feel at 8 months, I'm pretty sure I'll change my tune by then!

Re: ***********QOTD*********

I REALLY don't want a c-section.

Would love to make it through without an epi... my mom went au natural for all three of her kids.

But then again, no one gives you a medal for natural childbirth.

So... we'll see what we see.

honestly, and I might get flammed for this- but I want a c-section

I don't want that experience. I have a middle of the rd pain tollerance, but I just don't want to go thru it. I'm terrifed of it!

when i get pregnant I might change my mind

I would LOVE to try the bradly method but I really don't think I am strong enough. I envy the women who can

I don't think anyone would flame you, just know the recovery and pain after a csection can be a lot worse I've been told.

I'd love to go w/o drugs, my mom did for me and my sister. I'm also so not a meds person. I never see the doctor unless I'm really sick and rarely take aspirin. But, I don't think I handle pain well so we'll see.

Re: ***********QOTD*********

my threshold for pain is veerrrryy low. I hope that I can withstand the pain long enough to go natural. But my gut says I will be screaming loud enough for my family to hear me in the midwest lol

I do not like pain, like most people! But, I do not want a c-section. So, I would think or hope I can tolerate it! Lol, not that pain has anything to do with the c-section.

Re: ***********QOTD*********

I have a very very low tolerance for pain so I have no idea what I'm going to do if/when the time comes!!

I mean my pain tolerance so low that if someone pokes me in the arm, I practically scream bloody murder from the pain! I've never had a broken bone or surgery (with the exception of my wisdom teeth being removed) so I really don't know what to expect.

I'm so so scared for the pain that comes with childbirth!

Re: ***********QOTD*********

Honestly, I do not have the biggest tolerance for pain but I am more prone to tolerating pain then getting anything that involves a needle or making parts of my body numb. I have had this fear for as long as I can remember and avoid needles as much as I possibly can. That being said, I would like to have a natural birth but if the pain is unbearable I probably would get the epi. The funny thing is I am more afraid of the idea of getting/needing an episiotomy.
