homemade pizza

So... I've started to cook cook recently so it's a big imporvement lol.

I know DH makes pizza's on pita bread and they come out so good. But i'm looking for other toppings to put on then just the typical sauce and cheese.

thoughts? I was thinking maybe salsa, chedder cheese, and red peppers? I dunno lol.

olives
artichokes
red peppers
ricotta cheese

and I am sure a few other things I am mentally blocking.

I always have a batch of sauce in the freezer ready. so much fun and so easy!

Re: homemade pizza

Aside from the "normal" toppings we sometimes do a BBQ pizza - BBQ sauce, chicken, pepper jack cheese and sauteed peppers/onions.

I love to make shredded buffalo chicken and put it on the pizza then top with mozzerella and bake. YUM! You can also add bleu cheese. Also bbq sauce, sliced red onion and bbq chicken.

You can put ANYTHING on pizza! Chat Icon

This was from a while ago, but here's a strange combo I made...

External Image

eggplant, spinach, mushrooms, chicken sausage.

I highly recommend trader joe's marinara sauce to use as pizza sauce. I also love TJ's wheat pizza dough.

We made pizza tonight. I did half pepperoni, half chicken sausage, with caramelized onions, mushrooms, and half with mozz cheese (DH can't eat cheese).

Sometimes I use fresh mozzarella and sometimes I use shredded for my side. One time I used soy or rice cheese but it wasn't that good.

Yep, so good. I made pizza last time with grilled eggplant and pesto (instead of marinara) I didn't expect much but it was really good!
