Does being overweight affect ttc?
I would describe myself as pleasantly plump. I am about 30-40 lbs overweight.  I gained alot of weight with Ds and I never lost it. Do you think this is affecting my chances?

They say it can but I'm more overweight than you and I have two children.
It took me a while to get pregnant with DS but we now think that was b/c of steroid injections I had in my back months prior that messed with ovulation.
We'll see this time around. So far month 1 and I'm out.

I think if you are very overweight or very underweight it can ,but I was 20-30 lbs overweight when I conceived 1st DC

I don't know for sure but I doubt it helps. I know my cousin said that when she went to a fertility specialist they told her she needed to lose weight. Granted, she was more than 100 lbs. overweight which is clearly not the same as 30 lbs.
I'm in the same situation you are and I'm just trying to lose some weight and hope that it helps a little bit.

i was 40 pounds overweight and wasn't ovulating regularly. i lost the weight, ovulation regulated and i got pregnant. so i say yes

I'm overweight, but very regular. I'm worried that if I ask a doctor they'll say to lose the weight, which I should I know, but I'm already regular, so is the weight only a factor if it makes you irregular, not O?
