With a Heavy Heart ... An Update on Me

I haven't been on here in ages because its been very hard to see the "revolving door" ... but I wanted to stop in and post an update on my TTC journey. I do think of you girls often and I am very grateful for all that I've learned here on the TTC boards.

We have been TTCing since November 2009, and just started our 12th cycle. Today is CD 3. It has been a very long road this far, and I'm not sure how much more we have in us though we want our more than anything.

Its been 11 cycles of giving it everything we've got, with a 1 month break in between.

I can tell you my waking temperature on just about any day since November. Each and every month FF has been able to easily identify my ovulation date every time.

I've used more CBE Digital OPKs than I care to count, but I can say that I've successfully detected my LH surge.

TCOYF has become my bible, I find myself searching its pages for some hint or clue ... I keep wondering if maybe there's some secret we've missed?

We've had pretty good timing every cycle that we've tried, and even tried varying which days we through the cycles ... sometimes trying a modified "Deanna's Plan" since my cycles are on the shorter side.



We've decided to give it one more try before moving on to a RE. DH will be going for a SA before that. At that point I guess I'll "graduate" to the IF board, but I will try to pop on and let you know if we have news to share.

I wish I even had a inkling of what could be causing our TTC troubles ... ... ... hopefully the experts can help.

I've been thinking about you recently, as you can see I'm still here too(we started ttc October 2009) so I know exactly what you mean you say "the revolving door". I have definitely been on here less frequently for that very reason.

I hope we both get of bfp's very soon and don't have to go far (or at all ) past the year mark.

I started around then too so I can understand the frustration completely!
In that time, I WAS pregnant for 4 1/2 months.. but here we are, trying again......


All I have to say is, going to an RE is a great next step and so many of us on here have have made that step and become success stories!! Some.. still trying... but we'll all get there!

I'm sorry you are having a tough time Many prayers that this is your month!
I recently started seeing an RE. I was very hesitant to do so but actually felt a ton of relief once I went. It is so good to get some answers and have some hope again. DH and I tried for so long, that I got discouraged. I hope this is your month and you don't have to take the next step, but know if it comes to that it can actually be a relief.

Hi I remember your name from around the time you started. I started around there as well but was under a different name. I had a M/C so I changed by name for a fresh start. Although my situation is a little different than yours, I understand how frustrating it is to want this for SO long. I hope if you do go to an RE they can help you get a BFP soon!!

I've been wondering about you. I too have not been on the boards as much because the "revolving door" was getting to be too much. I don't recognize many people on the board anymore. Girls I started with have had their babies already and are a few months old.

i have wondered about you as well. im sorry you are still here. i am too, for a year and a half with nothing but two chemicals to show for it. i am doing my first IVF this cycle, and hoping its the only fresh cycle i ever have to do .

you have been trying well long enough that it wouldnt hurt to see an RE. ive been seeing one since November '09 but I have PCOS. the same advice i always give - but one of the hardest parts of IF is coming to terms with not being able to make a baby the way you always thought you would. but once you get over that, you will feel so much better being under the care of an RE and having a plan. each cycle becomes exciting again. and again like i said on another post - the end result is whats important, how you get there isnt. when you do hold your baby, you wont at all care what it took to get you there - except that you may appreciate that baby that much more!!

good luck and keep us updated. i do hope i DON'T have to see you on the IF board, and instead i hope we meet again on the pregnancy board

I recognize most of the names in this thread. Just know you are not alone.

I really need to share my story in full sometime, but for now, know that there ARE places that care to find out the cause of and treat your infertility (especially if you fall under "unexplained" infertility). I wasn't happy without having an answer (and was just not comfortable moving onto IVF after 4 failed IUIs), and now I am very close to having an answer, and ideally/hopefully that much closer to my BFP. If you (or anyone) is interested in the center I go to, please let me know (FM or here).
