QOTD 9.13.10

What do all of us ladies do for a living? And when the time comes will you continue to work after your LO arrives?


I work in a spa on my feet all day. but i worked up until the end with ds and went back 3 months later. i will do the same this time around(god willing) the $$ is just too good to give up

i work in a government office... in a cubicle... for 9 hours a day.

i won't be returning to work once we have a LO. we're lucky enough to not need 2 full time incomes, so i'll stay home with the kids until they start school. then i'll probaby do something part time just to keep myself busy.

I work for MSG... I have a very easy job... I could totally work until the baby comes... I make a decent salary with great perks and benefits...

I have the kind of job that I could still complete all my work if I worked part time. I would definitely talk to them about that If I could do that after LO's.

I would be a SAHM if we could afford it.

i work full-time and go to school but will be done in May. We are TTC and when the time comes I will return to work within 4-6 months. We need both our salaries to pay the mortgage & bills.

If I didn't have to work I would maybe be OL for a year max...I need to work....it's something that I also enjoy doing.

I am (was) an elementary school teacher. I ALWAYS wanted to be a SAHM so once my DD was born I never went back. Maybe down the road I may teach again when she's in school herself but honestly, I'm in no rush to get back to it. Right now I am enjoying my time home.

i like to call myself a domestic engineer

i am a housewife/homemaker and i love it. we moved so that we could afford a nice sized home and live off of one salary so that in the future i could be a SAHM. we moved last year and there is no need for me to work so i am home and enjoying it. with our financial situation it works out better for me to stay home than to work (b/c of taxes).

i am so glad that i don't have to go to work pregnant when the time comes

when we lived in NY i worked as a claims administrator for a tug and barge company. i worked in a really nice building in NJ and i had a decent cubicle. i had a great boss. working there pregnant would have been nice. i had great co-workers and it was a fun office. i do not miss working at all but i do miss my old job and co-workers.

I work in finance, like my co-workers/hate my boss. I will go back FT after the LO, my DH has a lot of time off and will raise the LO mostly.

i'm a lawyer, practice in litigation and bankruptcy

i love my job and want to keep working, but i also want to be a SAHM.

We'll see what happens.

I am a guidance counselor.

I plan on staying home. I am not sure how long yet, but I think until the baby is at least one yr old. Then we will reevaluate.

I am a social worker will stay our normal amount of time. We rely on both salaries!

I am Paralegal for a local defence company. I work part time since DS was born. I plan to continue working p/t after the next one is born too.

I am a third grade teacher. I will continue to work. Not only do we need our salary, but we need the benefits through me. Could we totally change our lifestyle to make it work? Yes, but we have some debt, and we have enough help to watch LO that I will continue to work. Truthfully, career wise I am a little bit more driven than DH anyway.

i work at a commercial RE co.

i wish i could be a sahm but we cant afford it - my lo was supposed to stay w/my mom but that doesnt look like it will happen so my child will have to go to daycare which i dont even know how we will afford that since one of my paychecks will have to go to daycare

I'm a graphic designer.
I'm hoping to maybe be able to start freelance so I can work from home.
We do rely on both our salaries though.
I would LOVE to be a SAHM.

I am a personal assistant. I don't hate it....I have 2 AMAZING bosses and wonderful co-workers but I feel like there is something *more* for me in this world.
DH works for the city so we cant leave but if we could I would move out of state or upstate in a heart beat so I could be a SAHM and run my own business. I have no idea how we are going to make it work once we have a baby. We need my salary. I'm hoping that my bosses will allow me to work from home at least 2 days a week (w/my job I TOTALLY could).

I do training and development. I will continue to work after I have a baby but will hopefully be able to cut back to part time.

I'm a teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Queens. I'd love to be a SAHM when our LO is born but I'm not sure we can swing that yet... guess we'll see when the time comes.

I'm a SAHM before that I was an ad director for a magazine...loved it, never thought I'd become a SAHM, but love being that as well...
