Just devastated
I posted this on Infertility boards too - but I know a few more people here & just feel the need to vent...
DH & I started TTC in 9/09. I was 38, am now 39 (never had any children at this point). About 4 months ago started using OPK's. Atfer about 2 months of OPK's w/BFN decided that I should go see the dr. went to ob/gyn - he sent me to RE dr & Ive had all my bloodwork, as had DH, just had saline sono this week, & am scheduled for HSG procedure this Monday. After having the saline sono - RE dr sits me down to talk about bloodwork. Apparently my egg count is very low & my FSH levels are very high -which I think means that whatever eggs I am producing - they are not getting fertilized correctly or something. So given this along with the fact that I also have low follicle count, dr told me it would be VERY DIFFICULT to get preg - even w/ insemination &/or in-vitro my chances are 10-30% of me becoming pregnant. I have been in a state of massive depression since yesterday and cannot believe that is my chance percentage. I am still going to see if my tubes are clear to at least attempt fertility drugs along with insemination, but I feel so hopeless & like a big fat loser. I never thought I would not be able to have children & to stare a 10-30% chance of it ever happening is so hard for me to handle & accept

Please dont give up. My SIL was told that there was a 0% chance of her getting pregnant but sure enough a couple of years later she got pregnant. She is 37.

Laurie I am so sorry you got this news. Please don't consider it the be all and end all though. There are so many options out there. Even if your journey to motherhood is a bit different than the norm I truely feel you will get there! If you need anything, need to talk or just need to vent I'm here!

Oh Laurie, I'm so sorry. You're just the nicest person on the whole planet and the MOST deserving person of a baby...it just has to happen for you. Don't give up hope. I'll pray even harder for you from now on. Giving you some of your famous hugs Love you!

Oh Laurie my heart goes out to you I KNOW what a wonderful mother you will be. I would agree and say try to keep your spirits up and here is a that that 30% chance is the part that works!
Also I have a GREAT infertility acupuncturist though she is in the city which I know is not so close to you but if you want info let me know. And def don't give up. . and if your road to motherhood is different then it will be different. You are a fabulous, positive, kind person and deserve this. I know that is not always the way life plays out - that the deserving people are rewarded but I'll say a lot of for you and DH!

oh laurie i dont know what to say - i am in tears for you. Please dont give up though. there are so many options out there and you are such a positive person. keep you head up and just believe that you will fall in that 10-30%

omg laurie dont give up! people i know have been told NEVER with 0% chance.....and have had beautiful babies shortly after. DH was one of those babies. his mother was told she would be never be able to carry, and sure enough 9 months later DH was born, and then his sister was 3 years later

Laurie I am so sorry to hear of your dissapointment. Please don't give up hope. There's still a chance.
Someone I am great friends with and work with was told for 15 years that she would NEVER be able to have children. She tried everything.
Finally at 41 years old, without even TRYING, she got pregnant-and just gave birth a month ago to a beautiful healthy little girl.
