Question of the week **Wednesday** Happy Hump day ladies!
First off I wanted to say Happy Hump days! Esp. to those of you who will be  today due to ovulation. Perfect day to do so!
Ok, and todays Question of the week is:
To those of you TTC for #1- What kind of mom do you think you'll be? Yknow, will you be very strict or laid back etc? Also, what kind of father do you think DH will be? For those of you who already have kids: What kind of parent did you think you were going to be before having your child and would you say that your prediction was correct?
My answer: Right now I think Im going to be more of the strict parent and a very worrysome parent. Yknow, the type where your kid falls and scrapes his knee and you're running to the ER  .

I hope I'm not going to be overprotective. i want to have a good relationship with my children but still be the parent and not their "friend".

I will be pretty strict when it comes to certain things. I feel like the things I will want to be strict about Dh will be laid back about and vice versa. It will be a battle lol

I am a very stressed, neurotic person and DH is very laid back so I am sure that will be reflected in our parenting. I am hoping that having a baby will mellow me but I highly doubt it. lol.

I'm the laid back one DH is the strict one...I'm the one that lets her jump in the puddles...DH is the one that is always worried she's going to get sick...

I have been a teacher for 10 years, I'm very patient and pretty laid back. DH is laid back, but has no experience with kids, so I'm interested in seeing how he is.

We're so going to be the "good cop, bad cop" duo. Of course, I'll be the bad cop  and he'll be good cop 
In the beginning though, I'll be neurotic and he'll be so laid back...it'll drive me crazy! Can't wait!

Im not sure about DH, although I think he will be a good dad. I know that I will be a mom like my mom. My mom will do anything for me and always put me first. She is even this way now that I am married and on my own!!!! I hope that DH and I can be as great as my parents. I had a great childhood and hope I can give my kids the same one day. My parents were strict with me as a teen but I never resented them for it at the time. I think I will be strict as well.

Im a mom already and strict with love is how I am. I NEVER spoiled my son..... he is 15 and NEVER had a tantrum a store!!!!
He has always had the things he needed and wanted with me being a single mom, without any support.
If DH and I have a child together I think he will melt if we have a girl and if we have a boy I'll be in the principles office all the time  .
I'll still be the strict one and will have to learn that there is 2 of us this time instead of me doing everything and controlling as well.

i honestly dont think its ever what you expect it to be.
i think motherhood teaches you, and you are never prepared.
there are times that id thought i'd be more patient but im not , there are times that i'd think i wouldnt have patience, but i do.
DD just turned one,
in the beginning i was crazier, now i am more laid back.

Not too sure.....I'm not a very patient person but when I'm w/my nephews & nieces, I am def more patient than I ever thought possible. DH is VERY patient. I'm a very affectionate and so is DH. I think we are both kinda on the same wave length. Fun loving but strict when it comes to rules & manners.
Who know though.......I do know that he is going to be a kick a$$ daddy!

i always thought id be very laid back not strict kinda just got with the flow... while i do this most of the time i do disciplin my 14 month old strong (i dont beat her but im not opposed to a slap on the hand when shes doing something shes not supposed to) Ive learned that mother hood is all about testing your patience even when you think you have all the patience in the world your child will test you and you will crack! i do think that being laid back with most things helps me raise a very well balanced child whos good in almost any setting! who knows if this will stay true after #2

i have no idea how i will be...
i do know that i want to be encouraging, supportive, loving, affectionate - i don't think i got enough of that stuff as a kid...
i know i will probably be a worrywart and neurotic b/c i am already like that but i don't think i will be too strict - at least not until i have teenagers 
i think DH will be a mush and a pushover ...
