How quickly did you tell DH?

Im just curious. For those of you posting that you tested and test came out with a BFP did you tell DH right away? If not, how long did you wait? I know they say you should wait a certain amount of time before telling family but does this apply to DH?

I plan on telling DH immediately. He is a partner in this journey with me. Besides if, God forbid, anything went wrong, I would need his support.

We've been TTC for 10 cycles now.

I could never wait to tell DH, at least not more than a few hours. I'm still not sure how I will tell him, it all really depends on if we are home together at the time I test. I definitely want to tell him in person, so if I tested in the AM it would probably be after he left work work ... so I'd have to wait until we got home that night.

We'll probably wait a couple of weeks to tell our immediate families (parents & siblings), and might tell a super close friend or two after our immediate families know. Everyone else we'd probably wait until the end of the first trimester.

about 8 seconds later. . . he knew exactly when I was testing and wanted to see the stick!

I agree with the PP that for me DH is a partner in the journey and would have been so upset/hurt if I knew before him but that's just us ..

about 5 seconds later! I regret not getting out the video camera he was sleeping and he didn't know I was testing. His reaction was great

I told DH as soon as I walked out of the bathroom. We told our parents and siblings that night, we told most of our close friends right away, we told immediate family at 9 weeks, and everyone else after 12 weeks.

DH knew as soon as I walked out of the bathroom. I asked him to come into the bathroom and showed him the test.

I told DH as soon as I thought there was a 2nd line....

it was pretty funny because all I did was hold up the test to his face and said "look at this" and he goes "I dont know what I'm looking at, all I see is 2 lines...is that good?" I said OMG so you see the 2nd line too wooohooo

Well we are not preggo yet but I always planned on making it special. I always told him that he got to surprise me with an engagement ring, that i wanted to surprise him with a BFP.

My plan on how I was going to tell him has varied since we have been TTC since March. First idea was with an easter basket filled with baby stuff instead of candy but that didnt happen...then as an anniversary gift but that didnt happen. So now I have no specific plan but I will come up with something when the time comes.

I yelled out from the bathroom to our bedroom as soon as the stick flashed PG. Then I proceeded to run into the bedroom with the stick to show him. No way I was waiting -- I wanted him to know the second I did!

I tested when DH was at work and I waited for him to come home to tell him. I gave him a onsie that said "My daddy loves me" on it. He was shocked!!

i am going to tell him the day i find out but probably not instantaniously because i want to find a cute way to do it

I tell DH right away as soon as I saw BFP ! I didn't tell my family except close ones (like parents) until I passed my first trimester !

The morning I got my BFP, my DH didn't know I was testing- he thought I was going to hold off till the following day (I was .. but changed my mind last minute!) .. As soon as I saw that second line, I jumped out of the bathroom and told him I had good news!!

ETA: I also told my family the very next day because it was Mother's Day!! Fortunately everything worked out and I got two positive betas later in the week!! I'm currently 15wks.
