is there a list somewhere of things you should do 1 year out, 6 months out, 1 month out, etc before TTC? I know plenty of people get pregnant unexpectedly but if you are planning ahead, things you would want to do to get ready?
What did you ladies do? (and when did you do them?)

Re: timeline
I read that you should treat your body like it is already pregnant.
Pre-natal Vitamins, cut out caffeine, alcohol... etc.

The thing is one thing I've learned on these boards is that TTCing can be a long process no matter what, so I wouldn't necessarily change your life too much yet, as you are going to have to change while pg anyway. In fact I think most people on here live there life as normal as possible even during the 2WW.

Only thing I did wascut back on caffeine because I was getting headaches and figured it would be too hard to go cold turkey. Looking back, I probably should have been tracking better, all I knew before starting was my average cycle.

If you go on babycenter.com or thebump.com, they have good suggestions for preparing for TTC.
Like the advice posted above, don't stop your life for it, you have no idea how long it will take you.
Here's what I did: (we started TTC in late April, got BFP early June-we were shocked it happened that fast)
In November 09 I switched to a new OB/GYN, got full exam and discussed TTC. In December, DH and I got full physicals and extensive bloodwork analysis. We also did dermatological exams and dentist. Sounds silly, but better to correct any potential health issues before TTC than during.
Jan 1, I went off BCP and started Prenatal vitamins
Early April-changed up my diet and severley cut back on caffeine and artificial anything. This was more for a life change, but it's coming in handy now that I'm pregnant.
I was never much of a drinker, I don't smoke (DH is the same) so thankfully we didn't have to worry about that.
HTH!
