WWYD?? with poll
My husband cannot get a full week off this summer. Me being a teacher we want to at least get away somewhere for a few days with our 3 1/2 yr old. We would be leaving Wed night, coming home Sunday. We were thinking of bringing DD to Disney for a long weekend. But I know its gonna be crazy, however something we want her to experience at such a great age.. Our second option is Lake George. It would be relaxing, she can go on the steamboats, water parks, they have a six flags type park, etc. They also have plenty to do for the little ones. We both love it there and have been there numerous times. Third, go somewhere entirely different (Ocean City, or some other nearby summer spot) that we have never been to. I am open to suggestions..I am torn and want to make plans, but dont know which to choose. So what would you do?
Thanks!!!

Honestly, I would wait until your daughter was five to take her to Disney, and until you have more time to spend there. She will get so much more out of it. You will be blowing two precious days of vacation on traveling to and from there which to me would not be worth it. Plus, a long trip may tire her so much she won't be able to enjoy it at first. I can not tell you how many people drag screaming, exhausted, desperately unhappy kids through there when it could have been a nice experience if they had planned for it and paced themselves better. It's actually painful to watch them.
Instead, plan an interesting long weekend somewhere else. There are tons of places you could get to fairly quickly from Long Island that you and your husband would enjoy, and your daughter would as well. Build your vacation around something nice for yourselves, the adults, not a three year old who really won't know the difference as long as you make wherever you go fun for her. I took my kids everywhere and they loved everything.
Good luck, and have fun!
