Question about DPO
Not sure I totally understand calculating DPO's....
Do you count O days starting on the 1st day of ovulation?
So if my first fertile day was April 23, is that day 1 of ovulation?
Everyone always posts about 12DPO and I'm not totally sure what that means? LOL
AF is due 5/10 and I'm not planning on testing until then-but if I really can't hold out, I'll test a day early..
You girls are the experts! Help!!

Re: Question about DPO
The only way to know exactly which day you O and therefore how many DPO you are is to temp. If you're not temping and just using OPK's O day is usually 12-36 hours after the last day of a positive reading. So if you get a positive Tuesday and then a negative Wednesday it's safe to assume you will O either Wednesday or Thursday. The day after O would then be 1dpo. Did the way I explain that make sense?

Re: Question about DPO
I don't temp but I do have a good sense of approximately when I O.
I use the CBEFM and I usually count the second peak day as my O day so the next day for me would be CD1. I also feel what I believe to be O pains on the first peak day, accompanied by EWCM and the second peak day I don't feel the pains and CM has turned to creamy so I figure I O somewhere between the 2 days.
Like the pp said tho, the only way to know for sure is to temp. Otherwise its a matter of knowing your body and making a good estimation.

Re: Question about DPO
I'm still a bit confused but probably because we didn't even try OPK's this month-we just went based on calendar method and winged it
I have the FR OPK in the closet, so if we don't get PG this month (and I'll be shocked if we do) I'll use the OPK the right way-since all my work traveling is finally over.
But if we ARE PG (yeah right) my OPK is still all sealed with the receipt and I'll return it.
Thanks girls!
PS I think I'm the delinquent TTC'er

Re: Question about DPO
Believe me I know what you mean! I get confused to. Cause I uses the OPK's but not the digital ones and it says it detects your two most fertile days so Im like ok, so if i get 2 readings that are my most fertile and then the next day nothing did I O already or am I going to O and I supposed to again? cause I just did on what was my 2 most fertile days? I dont know lol

Re: Question about DPO
DPO=day(s) past ovulation
I get confused sometimes too and just remind myself of what DPO really means. This is only my second cycle using OPKs to guesstimate when I O. The cycles before that I only used counting days and mymonthlycycles.com. Since I have a 29 day cycle, I ASSUMED that I O'd on the 14-16 day of my cycle and started counting DPO after that.
If you cannot temp, I highly recommend using OPKs to kinda pin down around when you are Oing. It takes the guess work out of counting days.
