Disney Hotels...overwhelmed with choices!
We are going in Oct with a newly 3 yr old and a almost 2 yr old...They all look really great! too many choices!?!? Any suggestions on what you liked best with young ones!!
Was hoping to go (a little) higher than the value category...but might be out of our price range....
ugh "decisions are the worst..."

Could you go before the child turns 3 because then they would be free.

Re: Disney Hotels...overwhelmed with choices!
We have a wedding in FLA in OCT anyway and that is really the real reason we are going down there...so this trip is a side bonus!?!?
Speaking of which...Do they ask for proof of children??...I am getting her a ticket, but who is to say she is 3 or two day until she is 3, or 2 week, etc.? Do I really have to bring her Birth certificate..dont want to if I dont have to!

Re: Disney Hotels...overwhelmed with choices!
No, they won;t check, and if she looks younger than 3, you could even get away with saying she is still 2. (not recommending that, or not. esp. if she will say 3 if asked lol). But proof isn't needed.
For the hotel, first is to prices out what you can afford and go from there. I haven't traveled to WDW with kids so take this as you will lol. The lower level hotels are more "kid friendly" as far as decor and pools.
The mid levels - Caribbean beach just redid the pool area not too long ago. The smallest is port orleans french quarter, but port orleans riverside has a really awesome pool area and little playground. I wouldn't recommend Coronado Springs - very huge and the food court is awful.
IMO, One of the port orleans is the best choice

If you don't mind staying off property I hiughly reccomend the Sheraton Vistana Resort....Its literally right outside the Disney property ...
They have 7 pools ( I believe) and one of them had an awesome sprinkler pool for the kids

I agree..each block has it's own pool, but depending on what block you're in, it could be a far walk to the cool pool and dining area.
Coronado Springs is nice.
Why don't you do the All Star Movie Resort? I know it's value, but it's still pretty cool to stay in Andy's room

My faves are the polynesian and animal kingdom lodge. (in that order). After that would be beach club, contemporary, coronado springs.

Check the swan and dolphin hotel for their special rates..... they have the same location as the boarwalk area deluxe hotels, and share their great transportation but have some great deals!

The outside of the building is...it's blue with the white clouds, and there's green army men along the top of the building. There's a HUGE Woody the Sheriff in front of the building, a HUGE Buzz Lightyear, and some of the other figures.
The room inside is a normal hotel room.Image Attachment(s):

Re: Disney Hotels...overwhelmed with choices!
well after I showed my DH and my DD the pics of All Star movies...she was super excited..how can I NOT stay at a hotel that has 3 story toy story characters - her fav movie, her obsession!!! SO although mommy wants a little upgrade...DH and DD win! (DH is super happy!! HAHA! )
I guess I'll save the splurge when the kids are a little older and will appreciate it more!
Thanks you all for your help and advice! Now on to dining plans! UGH!! lol!

Re: Disney Hotels...overwhelmed with choices!
They don't ask for proof, we didn't pay f our 3 year olds when we went and they were 3 in August and we went in October. My niece didn't get a ticket until she was 4 and she was tall.
We really like to stay on the monorail. Expensive but so worth the money when you have 2 kids in a stroller. When you take the bus you have to take the kids out fo the stroller and fold it up each time.
We love the Polynesian.
Non monorail hotels that we like are Boardwalk, Wilderness Lodge, Beach Club, Port Orleans and Coronado Springs.

Re: Disney Hotels...overwhelmed with choices!
sorry ANOTHER ques...
My father is coming in two days after us and leaving a day before us....he will be "bunking" in the room with us...
We are staying at ASM...
is he eligible for the free transportation to and from the airport on his different dates?
and how does the meal plan work..If my DH and I are on it....can he NOT be on it or be on it for just the days he is in?
Thanks!

Re: Disney Hotels...overwhelmed with choices!
I don't think he will be able to use Magical Express unless he is on your reservation. You need vouchers - they are sent with your paperwork. But you might be able to ask and see if they;ll let him use it if he comes later.
Meal plan is for length of stay, so he would have to get his own. Again, if he is not on the observation, he can't get the plan.

Re: Disney Hotels...overwhelmed with choices!
We go every year and kids 3 and under are FREE at Disney. We had my older son FREE there until he was 4.5 yrs old.
Big hint!!!!
We put my son on my DH shoulders everytime we walked up there and they never asked how old he was.
