Prenatals
Does anyone know where you can find out whats in your prenatal? Im taking Ob Natal One (i believe its a generic for some name brand prescriptions) and it doesnt tell you on the bottle exactly what and how much of each vitamin is in there.
Sometimes if i feel like im getting a cold i like to take extra zinc and Vit C but i'd like to know how much im taking already to not over do it.
I tried Web MD and sites like that but all i get is basic info.
TIA

Re: Prenatals
If it's prescribed by your dr, I would call the office or ask your pharmacist. They should be able to tell you specifics. While you can overdo it with zinc, vit C is water soluble (you pee out what you don't need) so it's extremely rare to take too much, so I wouldn't worry about that one. But I agree that you should know what's in your vitamin. I take One a day, so it's right on the bottle.

OB Natal One is the generic for Prima Care One which i found info for:
Is that the typical ingredients list on a prenatal -- for some reason i thought it had all the stuff in a multi vitamin
Should i be taking a multi vitamin too - this is confusing

Re: Prenatals
Hmmm odd. I would definitely call your dr. to ask. My prenatal is just like a supp'd up multi with extra folic and comes with a separate DHA supplement.

Yeah i thought that was odd too - i used to take an over the counter and it had alot more in it -- im wondering if prescriptions are different.
Im going to see my dr Feb 1st so i'll ask her then.
