Work travel where would you pick to go............
I have the following options for conferences. I do not have to pick just one but I probably will. I will spend some extra time in whatever location and my DH and son may even travel there, too. Here are the options:
January in Washington, DC.
April in Chicago.
April in San Francisco.
May in New Orleans.
November in Puerto Rico. This conference will focus on a narrow topic but it will go into it in detail. I do not know exactly what they will focus on yet but I have wanted to go to Puerto Rico for a long time. I still might not know the topic of this conference at the time of the other conferences.
Maybe I should pick one of the others then also plann to go to PR unless the topic just does not interest me at all??? The conference fees are high so even though I may want to see a place, it does not make sense to go unless I'll get something out of the conference. They all book fast and the Puerto Rico one may even get booked up before they make a more specific plan for the topic.

I would def do PR and probably San Fran but thats given the conf info is not a bore.

You know Puerto Rico is tempting me!!! I am going to start to become really nosy b/c I think there are some insiders who may have some idea about the conference agenda for Puerto Rico. I feel the same way you do about DC in January but that one might actually have a lot to offer in the way of a learning experience so I am at least considering it.

Where in Puerto Rico is the conference? San Juan? San Juan in Nov sounds really nice so depending on the topic that would probably be my choice for a beach getaway. Otherwise I would choose San Fran- b.c it is a great city with a lot of great things to do. While I love DC Jan is a bit cold to really enjoy it. Chicago is a nice city too, but April there is still pretty cold and you could get snow.

I would pick
April in Chicago.
or
May in New Orleans.
bc I have been to all the other places...although I might pick San Francisco bc I was pretty young when I was there and would love togo with DH,..so one of those three for me..
Which have you not been to? That Is how I would decide

I'd pick Chicago or Ner Orleans.
I've been to all, but Love Chicago and I haven't been to New Orleans in a while.
Although Chicago is the worst for flying b/c I've never left on time. Always delays.
There's a ton to do at either.

Based on the months the conferences will be in, I would choose San Francisco in April and Puerto Rico in November.
Chicago would be tempting as well, but I think it's still very cold in April.

Thanks everyone. I have now convinced myself to start my questioning to find out more about this Puerto Rico conference. It's at a resort that does not look to be very close to San Juan but that may be the closest big city.

Is it at the El Conquistador? If so, you must go there! You'll love it!!! DH and I stayed there this past summer and it was absolutely amazing. They have a large convention center, and there was a huge conference being held the week we were there so I wonder if that is the place.

No but now I am thinking of changing hotels after the conference if there is another resort that is really well rated!!!

Have you been to any of those places?
I've been to all your choices and they all have good attractions. I'd pick based on what geographic areas you haven't been to.
Personally I'd not go to PR in November. I'm almost certain it is rainy season. I've been to the Caribbean in Nov twice and both times it rained a lot.
I'd pick either SF or New Orleans.
If you have never been to CA, I'd pick SF.
Personally I'd go to New Orleans. Fun nightlife. Amazing food. Lots of charm.
