puppy throwing up after drinking water
anytime my puppy drinks water, she rushes and then throws it up. Today it was all over my couch. THe only time she doesn't throw up is when I put a few crushed ice cubes in it and just lightly coat that with a small amount of water. Any guesses on what this is from? she's more interested in water than food as well. I'm waiting for the vet to call me back today.

hmm.... sometimes my cat eats too fast, which causes his stomach to expand & he throws his food up... im not sure if thats the same for water

Maybe she is drinking it to fast. My pup, will drink the water to fast and than gag. Sometimes he throws up, he just threw up in his bed but not sure if its from the water or something he ate

It sounds like she is drinking too fast. Can you put a large (clean, obviously) rock or two in her water dish so she can't gulp it down?
ETA -- obviously rocks much larger than the dog could pick up!!

My pig of a dog does this all of the time!! They drink to fast and it comes right back up!! Perfectly normal

Probably too much water on an empty stomach. Maybe limit the water when the tummy is empty, for now?

my cat does this all the time. she actually was losing weight from it. I talked to my vet and yes she was cleared medically . she just does drink way to fast and right back it comes. so i asked what can i do to help and he said smaller amounts at one time, and add a vitamin to it. and it worked wonders. she put her weight back on and has less problems with throwing up .
i bought over the counter cat vitamins and i have a water bottle i dissolve it in and through out the day she gets just about 1 oz to 2 oz at a time.

My dog will as well. What we actually do now is having his water on his crate in one of the large water bottles. For him, its an activity and he gets all his water down without it coming back up.

Sometimes my little one will even eat too fast and then throw up whole chunks of food..
