Linea Negra as Gender Predictor?
I think I may have had one show up on my belly at 37 weeks. It's super light, as I am fair skinned, and is still below my belly button and straight.
I know there is some old wives tale related to a couple different characteristics of the line-- anyone know what they are???

And as far as the linea negra as a predictor-- it's not whether you have one or not, it's what it looks like...
- If it goes to your belly button, or up to your ribcage
- Is it straight or crooked
- Is it light or dark (this one makes NO sense since it depends on your coloring)

i had a dark line and had a boy. my sister had a dark line every pregnancy and all four were girls.
i think all the gender prediction stuff is hooey

I know-- but, after 37 weeks of waiting, I am getting impatient!! Just having a little fun. I don't believe in any of the old wives tales.

This is what I had with my first - a boy. This time around it just starting to show up now and it's very faint.
I never heard of it predicting gender - just that it increases in length as your uterus grows so that it's about the same size as your uterus.

I don't have a LN, but I think the gender predictor aspect of it is a load of crap. Totally fun to pass the time and post about it, but I wouldn't bet anything on it.

mine was up to my belly button and was straight. it was dark. i have olive toned skin that is pretty light. my sister had the same line according to these characteristics, and we had different gendered babies...
