Anyone want to analyze my semi-protocol?

I spoke to my patient coordinator but she doesn't have the definite protocol.

6+2

I guess that means vials?

Follistim
Gonal F
Brevelle

Repronex
Menopur

starting with Estrogen patches.

so I know I won't be on all of these at once but maybe starting with some and doing others during the stimming.

What do you think? I am going to call Davis' nurse on Monday to ask her about this but I'm not starting until January and she'll probably think I'm out of my mind to ask.

Re: Anyone want to analyze my semi-protocol?

Sounds like you are doing Estrogen Priming

450 of Follistim or Gonal F
and
150 of Repronex or Menopur

If it is EPP...you monitor for ovulation...and 8-10 days after (depending on your cycle length) you start the patches...I think you change them every other day and then do 3 shots or ganerelix...I have it written down somewhere

ETA- this is an aggressive protocol to jumpstart high FSH/AMA/Poor responders

yep, that makes sense. Davis said he wanted to hit me very aggressively. Hopefully I will get some good eggies out of this.

We are doing ICSI but not PGD.

Do you think his nurse will think I'm off my rocker asking about this so soon? I'm sure there are tons of others who need her more right now but I'm super curious.

what do you want to ask?

If you are doing patches and 6 + 2 it is def estrogen priming or estrogen priming/microdose lupron

You should get a cycle letter soon with your protocol and any testing that needs to be updated

Re: Anyone want to analyze my semi-protocol?

I guess I want it explained to me but I will get that on Dec 3 when I go for the IVF teach. You see, if I call on Monday and I get told you will know this on Dec 3 then ok. If I can find out sooner, I would like to.

They gave me the names of 5 different drugs. Am I taking them all?

Lupron not mentioned here neither is Ganirelex.

also what is 6+2?

Follistim, Gonal F and Bravelle are the same...different manufacturers

same with Repronex and Menopur

you will not be taking them all...they give you a choice

You can call your nurse...your protocol is usually in your chart...although it might not be there yet if you are not cycling until next series

ETA- 6 + 2 is 6 vials of FSH (Follistim or Gonal F) which are 75 each= 450
2 vials of HMG (Repro/Menopur) =150

Re: Anyone want to analyze my semi-protocol?

Susan, just be patient (that is why they call us patients). They will go over everything with you at your IVF class. Afterward you meet with an IVF nurse who goes over in detail what you will do everyday. And then she can put your meds order through.

I'm sure you will be using Ganirelix b/c it looks like he's got you on EPP (like Lisa said) and its exactly the same protocol I was on last cycle. And you had mentioned that a couple of times.

But, I would call the IVF nurse if you want into on this, not Davis' nurse. Though she will try to help you. But, really I would just wait until your class.

Yep, I think Lisa clarified it for me. That's all I wanted to know. I didn't know all those drugs were the same. Are there different brand names for the patches too?

yeah, there are different brand names for the patches but Cornell only likes one brand and I cannot think of the name. You'll probably only end up using 2 of them.

Re: Anyone want to analyze my semi-protocol?

My cousin has patches that she wants to give me. She went to Cornell too so I guess they would be the same.

I'm seeing her and her little boy tomorrow again. Taking my parents to see them.
