Do you over-analyze things?

I often over-analyze things, look at the literal text, etc. I'm often saying "Well, technically, here's an exception..." or "That's not *totally* accurate". I know what they are trying to say and mean, but *technically* they aren't totally correct.

Also - I predict that only those who answered "Depends what you mean by 'over-analyze'" overanalyze to the same extent I do. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Do you over-analyze things?

I wonder if the career path you choose also has something to do with it. I think I'm overly analytical and organized. And I'm an IT manager, so it serves me well.

I used to obsess over things but I've reached a happy medium where I realize when I'm going too far so I shut it off.

I'm in IT also...

I don't obsess over it. Most of the time I just make observations to myself, and let them slide.... unless I know the person really well, then I call them on it. External Image
