Today's NON TTC Topic 10/13

It's a two parter - since i'm HATING my job right now....

1. What is your favorite thing about your job?

2. What is the thing you hate MOST about your job?

Me?

1. that i can be online ALL day long.

2. my manager and the other 2 managers in this office (monkeys would do a better job than them).

1) that I am home by 4:30 and the $$ is good.

2) the actual job is soo boring and mindless it's hard to get thru the day.
2a) my manager asking me the same freakin questions every week

1) That I can be online all day! Pretty good money. Great benefits. Good work hours.

2) Tedious paperwork. Bad neighboorhood. Getting through "the system." Many after-work-hours obligations.

hmmmmm......

1) so many days off, good $$, good benefits, the people I work with, the kids, making a difference. Can you tell I love my job? :)
2) Certain administrators that p!$$ me off!!!

1. I get to work from home

2. That I have to work at all....why won't someone pay me to just play with DD all day?

1- somewhat good $$, good benefits and I like some of the sales guys I work with.. especially around the holidays or just b/c I get really good gifts

2-when everything is running smoothly they decide they want to change the Entire system and then we have a ton of trainings, etc to learn the new system... only to find out there are still glitches and it sucks.

1. I work 183 days a year and make good money doin' it...

2. The friggin' parents and their idea that their children are perfect and I just don't know how to "reach" them... if they stopped cutting my class... maybe I COULD reach 'em ...

1. Days off and watching simple things kids do that are so funny.

2. Some parents, but mostly other teachers' attitudes towards other teachers.

1. its a family owned business... so they are SUPER flexible with me.. i can go online all day! and they pay great!

2. i hate one of the bosses... he makes it so miserable.. i try to ignore him though

1) that I can basically work alone most of the time, and great pay

2) -the commute- Queens to Jersey City- totally blows!!
-my boss stalking me anytime he needs anything!!
-wish I had more flexibility so I could work from home more often

I work overnights so I am happy that this schedule lets me spend more time with my son plus providing a fulltime salary.

I wish I didn't have to commute to NYC at night though.
I am a little bored sometimes and the wacky schedule makes me never feel rested.

something new happens everyday.. it keeps me on my toes

2. What is the thing you hate MOST about your job?

dealing with parents... whether they are involved or uninvolved there is no happy medium; either overprotective or couldn't give a hoot

1. I am a part of "one" of the most important days in people lives.


2. Being on call....never knowing when the phone will ring!

1. I like that I basically work as my own department so I can wok at my own pace.

2. I hate that I have to take the LIRR to get here!

1. Love- what I do, the people I work with,the kids, the hours & that it's 2 blocks from where I live.
2.Not so much- the $$$. After I pay my son's sitter, I have less than $40 a week left

1. Working with teenagers, Good benefits, good salary, lots of vacation time, great hours

2. Dealing with grouchy people who don't like kids (only some of them), getting frustrated with the system sometimes, not being able to help all of the kids all of the time.

1. Relationships I have with co-workers and my patients. Getting out at 3 everyday.

2. Not enough money, better benefits. Current position is a dead end(ii;m trying to move up somehow)

1. I love that I have no "hours" and that I am online all day I also love the people I work with (small office) and the perks I get for working here (sports tickets, mountain houses, etc...)

2. I hate that I am the only woman. When I was preggo before they realized they don't even have a maternity leave section in the emplyee handbook

I have 2 jobs.

1. I love my twins that I babysit.
2. Changing like 40 diapers a day between them and my DD, lol.

1. I work with one of my BFFs and we have fun and still get our work done.
2. The same patient calling 10 times in a day to ask me the same question.

nah just kidding.

I love that I'm able to still remain creative and get to share stuff I'm passionate about with kids. I LOVE kids.

What do I hate? hmmmm not sure
maybe that my voice is shot and I'm too exhausted to perform for my OWN artistic expression

or I hate the days when kids are just BONKERS

I love my job. I love helping people. I love being there at the best and worst times of people's lives to help them.

2. What is the thing you hate MOST about your job?

The lack of Respect people have (especially children) for Police Officers.

1. Feeling like my work impacts the lives of others. And I laugh all day long. (5th graders are weird!)

2. Endless paperwork. Report cards. Feeling like I can never get a handle on things....

1. Giving the girls a special gift of learning the art of dance.

2. Lack of communication and that my classes went down due to the enconomy.

I love what I do so I guess that would be the best part. I also love the people I work with so it never really feels like work to me.

I hate....hmmmmm the hours maybe. DH and I work opposite hours.
