Can I Do A Non-TTC Realated Topic Today? 10/2
I was inpired after seeing a commerical for the movie The Secret Life of Bees.
This is one of my most favorite books and I've always thought it would be a great movie, and now it is!!!!
What is your favorite book made into a movie?

I honestly never like the movie after I've read a book!
I think it takes away all the fun because when I read, I imagine the characters - what they look like, their mannerisms, etc. and then I feel like seeing a movie just changes all of that.
EXCEPT for PS. I love you, because I read the book AFTER the movie came out (because DH wouldn't see it in theaters) so I already had the movie characters envisioned as the book characters, if that makes sense!

Do you have to like the movie version? 
I have 2 faves:
My all time favorite book in the world is the Mists of Avalon. They did a TV movie that I absolutely hated though...I was very, very disappointed 
My 2nd fave book is Pride & Prejudice. I liked the big screen movie (with Keira Knightly), but like most ladies, I just LOVED the BBC version with Colin Firth. Yum!

I guess you don't *have* to like the movie version...
I guess a better wording of the question would be: What is your favorite book that was made into a movie that you were excited about (not neccessarily like the movie).
Also I saw the movie Big Fish and then read the book and I love that movie too!

I know i'm going to get BLASTED for this - but i saw the Harry Potter movie first before reading the book - so that first Harry Potter book/movie...

I loved the book Cold Mountain...I was so excited for the movie and it was just ok.
Loved all the Harry Potter books AND movies!

I can't thikn of a single one I've liked better, but I can tell you for sure the absolute worst- Flowers in the Attic. That movies was oure cr@p and I was obsessed wit the whole series of books.

The cast of this movie was just on Oprah this week
I have a thing sometimes where I like to watch the movie first b/c the book gets even better...rather then reading the book and every time being disapointd about a movie. Even though they are nowhere close I think the Harry potter movies did a good job of relaying the story....Notebook was great both as reading and in the film...i'm looking forward to "my sisters keeper" which I am reading now and they are doing a movie of....Oh ya and I can't wait to see "marley and me" I LOVE that book!
