Dentist appoint-need advice-update
I've never had a lot of issues with my teeth, however this last visit I was told I would have to have wisdom teeth out and a root canal.
I had the root canal, and the wisdom teeth are being pulled tomorrow. The last part of this is to have a cap/crown put on the tooth that had the root canal.
This was supposed to be our first month TTC again-I should ovulate on the 25th. I have been trying to get all of this taken care of as quickly as possible but the dentist just called for the last appointment and the earliest they can book it is for July 30th. If I am lucky (which I doubt I will be-but you never know so it is good to be careful), I could be a few days pregant at that appointment, but not know it yet.
Should I be worried for any reason? Can I take any medication they give me? Should I hold off TTC for another month just to be careful? I should note, I am a big baby about the dentist to the point where they usually get me to take a valium beforehand (that's probably not a good idea this time, I realize-but what about all the other meds?)
TIA

Is there a novicane alternative that they can use? If not, I may need to potpone TTC, I don't think i can go through that without something-I'm just such a freak when it comes to the dentist.

Re: Dentist appoint-need advice
Novicane is OK AFTER your 1st trimester, you should ask for the novicane without epinephrin(SP?) - I'd give your OB a call and see how s/he feels.
I had to have dental surgery, my OB wanted us to put off TTC until after I got the first part done because I would need X-Rays and Antibiotics, the second phase only required novicane - she said it was fine to do after the first trimester.
If I were you I would skip TTC that month to eliminate the risk of potential harm to the baby, but definately get the opinion of your OB.

Re: Dentist appoint-need advice
Just an update:
Root canal is done
Wisdom teeth are out
Called OBGYN to see if I can have novocain in the two week window so I can get my final "procedure"/crown done and they said yes, as long as it's not the gas or an IV, I can.
Soooooooooooooooooooooo
We are officially TTC starting this weekend. I'm just as nervous as I was with DD. to all
